New, exciting, awesome camp sessions await your child this summer at MMI Preparatory School in Freeland! 2018 Summer Camps Summer is on its way, so start planning today to make your child s break enjoyable and educational at the same time. Join MMI s outstanding faculty, Sciensational Camps and Box of Light for a unique summer experience. All camps are $150 for the week. Campers staying all day should bring a bag lunch and will be supervised over the lunch break. Morning and afternoon snacks are provided. Space is truly limited, so register by June 1, 2018. Asian Cooking & Craft Camp Week of June 25 Time: 9 am - 12 pm Ages: 9-15 Class Size: 10 minimum Instructor: Mrs. Christina Spencer Price: $150 Campers explore the flavors of Asia along with various art forms in this hands-on camp designed for students age 9-15. Make a dish for sharing using traditional cooking techniques and ingredients. Learn some Mandarin while participating in culturally rich activities such as drawing, brush painting, calligraphy, lantern making, and kite making.

Take your love of Legos and robots and combine them to build a cool Lego Mindstorm EV3 Robot. Then you can program it to push objects around, navigate a maze, and more! Week of July 9 Messy Art Camp Time: 9 am - 12 pm Ages: 6-11 Class Size: 10 minimum Instructor: Mrs. Lisa Marie Ferry Price: $150 Get ready to get messy! Messy art camp is for boys and girls who want to celebrate getting messy while creating one-of-a-kind artwork and having a blast. Campers use a variety of art mediums such as watercolors, acrylic paints, pastels, shaving cream, water balloons, and lots more! Messy Art Camp promises to be goppy, gloppy, and awesomely messy. Campers need to be dressed in clothes and shoes that they don t mind getting dirty. Magnetic Levitation for Future Transportation Camp Time: 9 am - 12 pm Ages: 7-12 Class Size: 10 minimum Instructor: Sciensational Workshops Price: $150 Build your own futuristic Maglev car to race and take home. In 1999, a Japanese five-car maglev train set a record of 345 miles/hour. Yours won t go that fast, but we will have fun building it and learning how it operates. Learn about the relationship between magnetism and electricity. You will also get to build a simple maglev track as well as a cool electromagnet. Learn how motors work, as well as generators. Build and take home the world s simplest motor. Make your own compass and take part in many other magnificent magnetic activities! Hovercraft-Design your own Vehicle-Egg Drop Car Camp Time: 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm Ages: 7-12 Class Size: 10 minimum Instructor: Sciensational Workshops Price: $150 Do you want to design and build things that you create - not just a model you purchase? Well this is the place for you. Build and keep an air powered Hover Craft. You make it defy gravity. Once it s up and moving, use your creativity to control its direction. Build a super car powered by more than one source of energy. This can be one crazy looking vehicle. Get to build an Egg Drop Car. Build a gravity vehicle that can cushion a raw egg as the car is dropped from a high height.
