Ng Ruey Ying, Actuarial Science Student Host Institution: Inje University, Korea Exchange period: 29 September 2013 to 2 January 2014 I am glad that I participated in UTAR student exchange program that gave me an opportunity to have my internship at Inje University in Korea. It was a unique opportunity for me to learn something new and to explore the country. Before that, I had never thought of going on exchange overseas. However, after I learned about the exchange programme and had some advice from my family and friends, I was encouraged to apply for the internship at Inje University. My internship in Korea started from 29 September 2013 to 2 January 2014. When I reached Gimhae Airport in Busan with another two UTAR students who were also going to have the internship at Inje, a representative from Inje University was waiting for us at the arrival hall to fetch us to our dormitory. One of the students, Tan Yi Shen is my friend since we were studying in UTAR foundation program and both of us are from Actuarial Science Programme. While another student, Wei Sheng, we just met through this internship program. Yi shen and I were assigned to work under the guidance of Professor Chung Sang Kuck at the Department of International Trade. Our task was to complete a research project assigned by the professor during the 3 months in Inje. Inje also provided us two student buddies who could speak Chinese well to guide us around during our stay in Busan. The campus landscape and its surrounding are gorgeous. We experienced autumn and winter seasons in Korea. The dormitory is very clean and comfortable. Besides, the food provided at the dormitory is delicious and cheap compared to food sold off campus. We usually travelled around Busan during weekends. We have visited most of the famous beaches in Busan such as Hauendae and Gwangalli beaches, and Jagalchi, a huge fish market, where there are lots of great fish and other seafood sold. Nampodong Street which is just nearby the Jagalchi fish market is famous with the International Film Festival held every year, where there are lots theatres, a wide variety of shops and eateries. We were so lucky to have the chance to go for the Busan 9 th Firework Festival that attracted more than thousands residents and tourists at the Gwangalli beach. I will also recommend you to visit Taejongdae which is famous with its rock beach and light house when you visit Busan.

I had a wonderful time staying in Korea. I would like to thank UTAR and Inje for providing me such a great chance to have my internship in Inje. Throughout this training, I gained knowledge, experiences and got to know more about Korean cultures. I would also like to thank Prof. Chung Sang Kuk for his kindness and help in guiding me to complete my research project. Last but not least, I would like to thank Ms. Furnny Ong from UTAR Division of Community & International Networking who helped us a lot in solving the problems and difficulties we encountered during our preparation to Korea.
