Page 5 June 2011 (Continued from page 4) Jerry Quint picked up his airplane at Wichita while all the destructive winds were a'blowing back in the area. He managed to get out of the "Dooky" and put down at Casper, Wyoming on Tuesday, 5/24. The number of Skycatchers being prepped for delivery at Yingling is impressive. The customers coming through Wichita to take delivery vary from Cessna dealers and fleet operators to a growing number of retail customers. Such was the case last week with an early retail delivery to Jerry Quint. Jerry, a former Air Force fighter pilot with more than 6,000 flight hours, was in Wichita last week to pick up #16200066. "I ve lost 60 pounds in anticipation of delivery and that translates into 10 more gallons of fuel," he joked, referring to the weight restriction of the LSA class of aircraft to 1,320 pounds. Jerry lives in Sacramento and plans a lot of flying in the coming weeks with a visit to Washington State to see his grown children, then to the aircraft museum at Boeing Field in Seattle and to Evergreen, Ore., to the Spruce Goose at the museum there. After 23 years in the Air Force flying a variety of fighters and other jets, Jerry has continued to fly and has been very active in EAA s Young Eagles program, with more than 300 Young Eagle flights to his credit. Welcome to the Skycatcher family, Jerry.
