HOTEL ACCESSIBILITY PACK Thank you for considering the Hilton Avisford Park. We are pleased to give you some information about our hotel that you may find useful when planning your visit. Arriving at the hotel We are an elegant 140 room Georgian manor house set in 89 acres of beautiful parkland We have many leisure facilities including an 18 hole golf course, Livingwell Health Club and heated indoor pool The hotel is close to Arundel & Chichester, with Goodwood and Fontwell nearby for horseracing Access is through the ramped main entrance. We have accessible parking bays 20 meters from reception anda total of 260 car parking spaces Ask any member of staff for help Welcome and reception The check in desk is immediately next to the entrance door The lobby is all on one level, with a carpeted and hard surface floor. It is fully accessible, disabled toilet is available to your left just before the bar No floor lifts are available
Check-in is at the main reception desk, which is 1m high. However, a team member will come round from behind the desk to check you in/out if necessary The induction loop is at the check-in point, to the right-hand side of the reception desk. The Hotel operates a system of PEEPs (Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans). On check-in to the Hotel, you will be offered the opportunity to discuss and outline any special requirements or assistance you may need should an evacuation of the Hotel be necessary as a result of a fire or other emergency. Other services If you want to order a newspaper, please contact the reception team. We will deliver your newspaper each day to your room. You can order a wake-up call through the reception team. Or, you can set a wake-up call in your room, using either the phone system or the television. Every guest room has a guest directory that contains information about the facilities in the hotel. For extra help to use this directory, please contact a team member. For any extra information you may need, please ask at reception, where the team will be more than happy to help you. Toilet facilities The standard public toilets are located via a ramp from the reception area, through the bar area and down one step. We do have two accessible toilette on the ground floor one by reception and the other by Livingwell. Taxis We can provide local taxi information at Reception. Our taxi firm meets the conditions of disabled guests.
Getting round the hotel All public areas are accessible via wheelchair lifts, of which there are five. Business centre The centre is 10 meters from reception to the right, and full help is provided Restaurant/ Bar The entrance to the restaurant is directly beyond the lounge area to the left. As you pass you will find the restaurant reception desk to your right. The access to the restaurant is five feet wide with no doors. The buffet area is located up a few stairs, staff can assist if required The bar area is carpeted, and the restaurant, starting at the entrance, has a wooden floor and then carpeted. The buffet area is tiled. The restaurant is on 2 levels. We can provide menus in large print if you require. A team member will be on hand if you should need any help with reading the menu Both self-service and table service are provided. Health Club We have a health club located on the ground floor past reception to the right towards the bedroom corridor and then immediately on the left. The fitness room has surveillance cameras, which are monitored by reception. The floor in the gym is rubber matted The gym has two running machines, one cycling machine, one rowing machine, one step machine, a cross-trainer, a multi-purpose weight machine, a leg curl machine, a leg extension machine, an exercise area and a free weights area. We provide towels when you enter the gym. We also provide a water dispenser. The swimming pool is located beyond the gym. The changing rooms are located further along the corridor to your left. A fully accessible & family changing area is located across the corridor from the health club.
Classes in swimming, water aerobics, yoga & aerobics are available. Please ask reception for details. Floodlit tennis courts 18 hole golf course buggies available Squash Croquet & putting green Bedrooms 140 bedrooms split into double or twin. We have five king suites available We have 3 accessible bedrooms. I twin room located in the main hotel on the ground floor. 2 double rooms located in the lodge, access is via stairlifts through main hotel, or via an external path. All accessible rooms have grab rails around the toilet, a higher level toilet, an emergency pull cord and a low-level storage shelf. Accessible rooms also have a lower-level sink, a low-level spyhole in the bedroom door and wider doors. We can add the following equipment to any room in the hotel for you to use. - A Derby toilet seat - A Cosby bath seat - An Ashby step-two - A Castle Safe support rail - A bath board (plastic) - Bed risers (individual elephant feet ) - A voyager travel bag. - An inflatable chair to help you get in and out of a bath - Rubber mats Your room will have a chair at the desk, a comfy chair and a coffee table. If you need more space in your room, we can remove any of these items. Please contact either reservations, before your stay, or housekeeping once you have arrived at the hotel, to arrange for furniture to be moved.
In an emergency The Hotel operates a system of PEEPs (Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans). On check-in to the Hotel, you will be offered the opportunity to discuss and outline any special requirements or assistance you may need should an evacuation of the Hotel be necessary as a result of a fire or other emergency. You will be given a copy of this Emergency Evacuation Plan and we will keep a copy for our Hotel Fire Team to refer to in case of an evacuation taking place during your stay. The Plan will specify which of our Team Members will be designated to assist you, should you require this.
