Since 1946, Franke Park Day Camp has been serving the children of this community with an emphasis on basic camping skills, nature education, and Native American Lore. ELIGIBILITY Any individual, 12-18 years of age, may register to be an Advanced Camper at Franke Park Day Camp regardless of sex, color, national origin, religion, or disability. Prior camping experience is not required. COST The registration fee is $93.00 for each Junior Leader, 12 years old, for a one week session of camp. Registration is limited to 15 Junior Leaders per session. All campers must be of minimum age by June 1, 2018. Campers (with the exception of the CITs) are limited to one camp session. Registering for more than one camp session will result in cancellation of the additional session(s) and a refund less processing fees. The registration fee is $73.00 per session for each Counselor-In-Training, 13-18 years old, attending one to four sessions of camp, or $292.00 for the summer, if attending five or more sessions of camp. Counselors-In-Training must be present at camp for at least 25 days to be eligible for the $292.00 fee. Registration is limited to 60 Counselors-In-Training per session. All Counselors-In-Training are required to submit two names of adult references, along with contact information, upon registration. Names of relatives, family members, or camp staff may not be submitted as references. If references do not pass a reference check, the registration fee will be refunded. Financial assistance is available. Please inquire about the Youth Scholarship Program upon registration. See complete information in this brochure. SPONSOR Franke Park Day Camp is sponsored by the Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department. ADVANCED CAMPER PROGRAM Any individual, 12-18 years of age, may register to be an Advanced Camper. This group is involved in day camping, overnight camping, Native American Lore, basic camping skills, canoe instruction, nature education, ecology, conservation, camp and community service projects, social activities, and assisting the summer day camp staff. WHAT TO WEAR Advanced Campers are to wear long pants, sturdy shoes, and have a jacket, sweatshirt, raincoat and/or boots in the event of inclement weather.
