Page 2 Garden State HOG From the Director.. Russ Hall Nothing From Russ This Month From the Assistant Director.. Dennis Lawler As we come through the holiday season, we look back over 2013 and hope everyone had a great year and is enjoying this holiday season. No meeting was scheduled for December because we know how busy everyone is this time of year. We are eager for the New Year - and think that 2014 will be our best year yet! Please remember that annual dues are due at our next meeting, January 15, 2014. We look forward to seeing everyone then! Dennis L.

Volume XXVII, Issue 1 Page 3 Head Road Captain.. Gerry Molitor RIDE PLANNING MEETING: March 1, 2014 Well, by the time everyone is reading this the holidays are past and even the Chilly Chile Run is in the books. I hope Santa was generous to all, and the new chrome or leather has been installed or worn. Good health, loving family and great friends can t ask for allot more than that. Polar Bear has been a tough tour this year. The weather forced only the 2 nd cancellation in Polar Bear history (22+ years) on December 15 th (snow/ice) and the toy run (Cabin in Howell, NJ) caught a few later departures in the snow on Dec. 8 th. Snow and scoots do NOT play well together. As noted above, our 1 st RIDE PLANNING Meeting will take place on March 1, 2014. All Road Captains need to plan on attending, but all chapter member are welcome to come and participate. This first meeting will include discussions on last year s riding season, destinations and safety practices. We will look into scheduling a SAFETY COURSE this year and look at potential overnight rides that may require long term planning. Note that the Overnight Ferry is running again from Portland, Maine to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. Those thinking of NS can save a lot of miles and time on the ferry. New equipment looks great. If you have never made the trip think about going. It is truly a legendary ride just give yourself time to enjoy it all. I know my team will approach the 2014 Ride Schedule with enthusiasm and passion, bringing forward some of the enjoyable destinations of 2013. We are looking at the R&R Hall of Fame (Cleveland) as a potential overnight.perhaps a Canadian adventure for a quick 4 or 5 days let your imagination loose and suggest something epic. Ride safe and warm for a few more months.looking forward to 2014 ride season are U? g-man Meeting Notice: E-Board: 01/13/14 Chapter: 01/15/14 LOH: TBA Maggie Moore s 7 Midwood Road & 202 South Lincoln Park, NJ 07035 www.maggiemoorespub.com

Page 4 Garden State HOG From the Safety Officer. Byrne Sciortino Nothing From Byrne This Month New Member Contact.. Keith Ward Hello fellow motorcycle enthusiasts! I hope everyone had a safe and exiting new year cerebration! Its January 2014 and in a few months the start of a new riding season. Most riders are hibernating along with their machines. There have been a few days when it was warm enough to take at least a short spin to circulate the oil... and the blood! But the salt from the roads can etch the aluminum! Has everyone paid their dues? I didn't! I forgot! So I'm going to the dealer tomorrow and paying them. So till next month.. See ya! Keith
