The River Dart Experience At River Dart Country Park we offer a unique and unforgettable holiday experience set within 90 acres of wonderful woods, beautiful lakes and breathtaking parkland. Children can rough-and-tumble over space nets, swing through trees on jungle ropes, play tennis, splash about in our Pirate Ship Lake and enjoy our games room with pool tables and amusements. Toddlers aren t left out either with our Toddlers Beach and Lilliput, just perfect for tiny explorers. You can visit for the day, stay on our multi-award winning touring site or even in our luxurious en-suite rooms in Holne Park House or the Coach House, new for 2011. For the adventurous there is Dare Devils on the Park and full day activities off the Park with CRS Adventures Ltd. - turn the page for more details. For many parents, one of the many attractions of staying at The River Dart Country Park is that there is so much to do on site. There is no need to travel in order to occupy the children - thus ensuring a more relaxing holiday for all! The Old Sawmill Cafe Bar serves quality locally sourced food and drinks and in high season is open from breakfast through to 11pm. The menu is designed for families, with a selection of quality children s dishes as well as adult choices. Our meat is sourced locally from Dartmoor and we even make our own burgers. Why should Mum cook everyday! The Park shop is stocked with daily essentials as well as local meat for the barbecue. Camping equipment, toys, games, gifts and ice cream are all available including basic essentials such as toothpaste and brushes which may have been left behind! All our guests staying at River Dart Country Park have FREE access to our extensive adventure playgrounds known as River Dart Adventures! In addition to this action-packed fun there are lovely scenic walks through woodland and alongside the beautiful River Dart, including nature and tree discovery trails. Please note that we ask parents to supervise children at all times. Dare Devils... Dare Devils are instructor supervised adventure activities. Extra on-park excitement and fun in a safe environment. Go on - we dare you! Activities are operated by CRS Adventures at a small extra charge to cover the cost of the supervision. Dare Devil Tokens can be purchased on the day from CRS Adventures Reception. 1 token = 1, any unused tokens can be refunded. Dare Devils will be open every day during the school holidays from: 9-25 April, 28 May - 5 June, 16 July - 4 September inclusive. October half term contact CRS direct for availability. Indoor Climbing and Bouldering Wall - The ultimate experience for any budding climber - 220 square metres of safe modern undercover fun. Children under 8 to be supervised by an adult. Camping & Touring What better way to experience the woods and parklands of River Dart Country Park than to set up camp, be it tent, motorhome or caravan? The Old Sawmill Café Bar We offer everything that the great outdoors is all about: nights under canvas, cooking in the open air, perhaps even a little star gazing! Or, you can bring the comforts of home with you by reserving one of our pitches with electric hook ups perfect for our touring guests. Our award-winning camping and touring site has generous, neat, individually marked and numbered pitches with an excellent range of amenities to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable. All pitch areas served by access roads with nearby water, recycling and rubbish points. Electric hook-up points available on many grass and all hard standing pitches. Limited availability for hard standing pitches. Book early to avoid disappointment. Dedicated campsite wardens. Harley Davidson Rally 10th - 12th June 2011 With bands, bars and over 300 bikes to admire - All guests welcome, although there will be a small charge for the evening entertainment and bands. On site Shop We are a pet friendly park, but please note dogs must be kept on a lead at all times and exercised in designated walking areas: owners are required to clean up after them in all areas at all times. Holne Park House interior New for Summer 2011... Additional Bed & Breakfast in the newly refurbished Coach House Bed & Breakfast Holne Park House is our premier wedding and conference venue with magnificently restored reception rooms and 9 bedroom suites. We are pleased to be able to offer these luxurious bedrooms on a B&B basis. The rooms are available for a minimum of two nights, advanced booking is essential. For B&B bookings please call 01364 652511 The majority of our impressive rooms face south with wonderful views over the lawns and park. Accommodation On the first floor there are four rooms; Bovey and Cherrybrook make an ideal family suite sharing a large bathroom with access to the smaller room Cherrybrook through the main room Bovey. With a sofa and seating area in Bovey. Webburn is the principle room in the house with a large four poster bed, sofa and seating area with traditional internal shutters rather than curtains with en-suite bathroom. Dart is a large en-suite room with large double bed, sofa and seating area with large windows overlooking the lawn. On the second floor we offer six rooms;- Mardle and Yealm are family suites with integral second bedrooms with bunk beds for children. All sharing a sofa and seating area and bathroom. Plym and Avon are both en-suite but have the flexibility of interconnecting doors which can link the rooms if required as a family suite. Tavy and Meavy are similar to Plym and Avon and have a connecting door which can link the two rooms. All rooms are en-suite, furnished to the highest standard and come with TV and tea and coffee making facilities. A full English breakfast is included in the price. There are no self catering facilities in Holne Park House. In Holne Park House, all bedrooms are on the first and second floor and accessed by stairs only. The Coach House is a separate building with a total of nine en-suite shower rooms. There are three rooms on the ground floor, with Fox Tor and Hound Tor both suitable for wheel chair users and the less able. All rooms are furnished with two single oak sleigh beds and have tea and coffee making facilities and TVs with DVD. Holne Park House is the ideal venue for house parties with 4 or 5 families taking all the bedrooms and main reception rooms. We can cater for all your needs in relaxed and comfortable surroundings. Green Environment At the River Dart Country Park we are keen to keep our environment clean and green. We are now producing 1,100 mwh of heat and power from renewable sources, saving 480 tonnes of carbon per year. Our hydro-electric turbine, which uses water from the river, was the first of its kind in the UK and available for all to see and makes us self sufficient for 8 months of the year and saves 180 tonnes of carbon per annum. In 2010 our Biomass Boiler and District heating scheme was installed. This replaced 11 oil/ LPG boilers and provides hot water to the The River Dart Country Park has reduced its Carbon footprint by over 80% since 2006. Woodlands and Meadows amenity blocks, the Coach House, Holne Park House, The Old Sawmill Café Bar and two other properties. This scheme is nearly carbon neutral and saves over 300 tonnes of carbon per year. Our hydroelectric generator was a finalist in the Regen South West Awards and has won the DEBI (Devon Environmental Business Initiative) Award for 2007. In 2009 we were winners of the prestigious BCE award (SME category). We ask that guests recycle their rubbish at our recycling points. How to book Booking your holiday is easy; simply refer to our tariff charts below and calculate the price of your holiday. Camping and Touring is based on a price per night per pitch for two people, the tariff also shows you the cost for additional people and pets. The Bed and Breakfast tariff shows the price for the room per night. Young people under eighteen years old must be accompanied by parents or guardians. Any visitors to residents will be admitted only on payment of the day visitor fee. Checking in: Please check-in at Reception between noon and 8pm on day of arrival and vacate pitches by 11am on day of departure. Admittance to the campsite is not possible until check-in has been completed. If arriving after 5pm in low season please telephone to make arrival arrangements. Admittance to the campsite is not possible after 8pm or dusk. Parking: Only one car with caravan, tent or trailer tent or one motorhome is included per pitch. Additional vehicles must be parked in the car park unless exceptional permission is granted by the site warden, in which case a charge of 3.50 per night per vehicle is payable. Vehicles are not allowed access to the camping area between 11pm and 8am; if you return after this time please leave your vehicle in the car park and walk to your pitch. Health and Safety: You re welcome to erect a gazebo, but it must be securely anchored to the ground and at least 3 metres from the nearest tent, awning or caravan. Campfires, windbreaks linking units and clothes lines are not allowed for safety reasons. However, gas or charcoal barbecues are permitted provided they are raised off the ground. No wood fires please. Electrical equipment must comply with safety regulations for connection to the site supply. Please bring your own electric cables, we do stock some subject to availability on a first come first serve basis. Bookings are not transferable and in the event of cancellation, late arrival or early departure no refunds will be given: we strongly recommend independent insurance cover to limit your exposure in such cases. While we endeavour to give people the pitches that they request we cannot always guarantee this. The swimming pool no longer exists. We reserve the right to remove facilities at short notice. Hardball games are not allowed on the campsite. All charges include VAT at 20%. We reserve the right to terminate the visit of any person whose conduct is deemed detrimental to other visitors. Please observe the 10mph speed limit and note that all drivers must be licensed and have legally adequate insurance cover. Please respect your fellow guests by keeping noise to a minimum after 11pm and leaving all facilities as you would wish to find them. Any damages will be charged at cost.
