This state-of-the-art construction is one of the most enduring and safest afloat. (Closed-cell PVC foam core does not deteriorate or absorb water.) The composite structure serves both as a buoyancy material and shock, sound and temperature insulator. It rides quiet, increases impact strength and eliminates condensation build-up inside the hull. Penelope HAD A COMPLETE BOTTOM PEEL AND NEW EPOXY BOTTOM IN 2003. Decks are a fiberglass sandwich construction with end-grain balsa core. All joiner work, paneling, and beam-caps are of fine teak. Cabinetry is teak. Countertops are mica. Saloon The saloon is as large as you could ever expect to find on a 36 vessel. The entire sole is teak parquet, and there is generous use of teak paneling and trim. Penelope features no built-in furniture in the saloon. To port is a convertible sofa, entertainment table and ice maker. To starboard are 2 recliners and a dry bar. There are large opening windows port and starboard with Oak louvered blinds and double doors aft leading out to the covered aft deck. Galley The galley is located on the port side, forward of the saloon. It too is exceptionally large and offers plenty of cupboard, drawer and locker storage. Master Stateroom The stateroom is located all the way forward and it too, is very spacious for a vessel this size. It features a queen-sized centerline berth, walk-in sized hanging locker, built-in bookcase, mirrored vanity and generous drawer storage. There are 4 opening ports and a large opening hatch. Head The head is located to starboard opposite the galley. It includes a large separate stall shower, vacuflush toilet, stainless steel sink and a large opening window. Pilothouse The pilothouse is accessed from the aft deck, and is at the forward end of the boat deck. It offers 360º visibility and easy access to the fore deck and boat deck. There is a U-shaped settee with new cushions, full side and aft curtains, port and starboard doors, fixed forward windows and a full hardtop. The boat deck has the added benefit of a new full bimini top and a large stamoid awning for shade..
