ITINERARY DAY 1: SANTIAGO - PUNTA ARENAS - TORRES DEL PAINE After being met at the airport in Punta Arenas you will be transferred on to the Torres del Paine National Park, where a hearty lunch will be waiting at the Ecocamp. This afternoon then provides a first opportunity to takes in the breathless landscapes of the Patagonian steppe, with a leisurely tour of the park providing a chance to enjoy the majestic snow-capped mountains of the Paine massif. (L,D) DAY 2: TORRES DEL PAINE Encompassing a spectacular mix of mountains, glaciers, lakes and rivers, the Torres del Paine National Park provides a remarkable backdrop to the next few days. Each morning begins with a chance to photograph the sunrise at various locations around the park, before a full day's adventure in search of some of the park's abundant flora and fauna. After ending the day with sunset over the Paine massif, you'll then return to the camp to enjoy dinner and a chance to relax and reflect. (B,L,D) DAY 3: TORRES DEL PAINE Over the following days the puma tracking team will be in constant radio contact, providing updates on the location of the park's most elusive inhabitants. Each day then provides chances to visit and photograph some of the region's most iconic landscapes, whilst the services of a knowledgeable guide offers up a fascinating insight into the national park's various ecosystems and wildlife. In the event of inclement weather other activities will be planned, such as visits to the scenic Paine Grande Waterfall or Laguna Azul. ACCOMMODATION TORRES DEL PAINE ECOCAMP TORRES DEL PAINE Ecocamp Patagonia is situated in the heart of the Torres del Paine National Park. It opened in 2001 as the first eco-lodge offering fully sustainable accommodation in the region south of the Amazon. The accommodation consists of four types of domes: suite domes, loft suite domes and superior dome with heating and private bathrooms; standard domes with shared bathrooms. All domes utilise natural light and energy and blend into their environment, providing an experience as close to nature as possible. Meals and drinks are served in the communal domes where guests can socialise after a day out in the wilderness.
