The club had several new members and with this new member ship, many are younger. With this younger membership is the future of the leaders of this club. I want to welcome all the new members and hope to see you out on the claims looking for that gold. The water on the claims was probably the best the club has seen in a long time. Every claim this year had plenty of water even the Park Placer. The claims are in excellent shape. Signs and claim markers are in very good shape with each claim marked by a gold sign. I want to thank all the club officers and members for making this a great year.we can make this year even better by attending the Year-end Party on October 3 at The Shrine club. The theme is to dress for the 1872 mining era. There are lots of very nice prizes to be given away following the dinner. Many of business have been very generous in providing some of the great gifts. https://goo.gl/maps/7inab49qoyrmeeting MINUTES SEPTEMBER 19, 2015 Meeting called to order at 10:15 am at the Garnet Claim by Gary Mallams with 22 members, 4 guests and 6 officers present. Participation is needed on the USFS plans to shut down roads and trying to eliminate prospecting, mining and other PUBLIC USE. Ken Theil said it would be beneficial to send letters to ALL of our representatives in Washington to let them know how the 300 plus members of the BHPC feel about their activities. Gary Mallams stresses the importance of members getting involved in the comment period for all issues with the USFS concerning all public use, not just mining. Hit them in the pocket book and they will come around. There is currently a comment period on the Wyoming side and we should be heard on that too. The Year End Party is upon us. October 3 at the Shrine Club on Sturgis Road. We need to give the caterer a pretty accurate count for the meal by the 1 st of Oct. so please get your RSVP in as soon as possible. Don Hamm and Gary Mallams gave a rundown of some of the great prizes for the MEGA RAFFLE. Tickets are $2. Each and you don t have to be present to win so everyone has a chance to win even if you can t make it to the party. GET YOUR TICKETS NOW!!!!!!! Don Hamm said the author of the book Black Hills Prospecting has given us a deal on several of his books to be available to us. Tom also said he would like to include the BHPC in his next update of his new book because of the caliber of our club. This is a great way to promote the club. We need to look at new ways to promote it. The website should be up and running current soon. Hopefully we will also have more pictures to include on the site. Luanne Denke has volunteered to be the new club photographer. These pictures are important to the club as we have lost some members recently and we can reminisce about them in the club if we have photos. Reclamation on the Garnet Claim was discussed at length. We had an A+ from the DENR on our last report. It was decided to wait until the creek is drier to do it. The current area of mechanical use was discussed and it was stated that there is still a LOT of gold lying on the bedrock just waiting to be found. Sam Griner gave a report on the existing claims: Park Placer has no water again which is usual for this time of year. He said there is gold at the point of origin on the claim; BF-1 has an issue with the entrance road off the Upper French Creek road to the claim. There are many washed out large rocks and gullies washed out to get high-centered on; VSP 1&2 has been getting a few washed out areas on the road also but there is good fine gold there if you are willing to work for it; The Garnet is another one you have to look at the strata to decide where to dig but there is good gold there too, especially on the bedrock. Some of the bedrock is only a foot deep so keep on digging. After Sam Griner, claims director, gave his report he surprised everyone by handing in his resignation of an officer of the club. He has been diligent in working with the USFS for ALL prospecting issues but is retiring. Thank you Sam for your service. This position is open if anyone would like to volunteer for it. All the officers are volunteers in the BHPC but any extra time you can donate is appreciated. The porta potty and trailer was put up for sale at the August meeting. It was sold to Sis Sanders at this meeting. She also joined the club. Welcome Sis and thank you. Gary mentioned the possibility of a claim on Box Elder creek again. Hopefully we can get this checked out and some movement on it by the Spring prospecting season. The claim at the end of the Garnet was claimed by Sam Griner. The BHPC did not wish to claim it due to the infraction of so many people upon the ranchers property and did not wish to cause him any duress upon his pasture. Treasurers report: $3497.98 Meeting adjourned at 11:47 followed by another delicious and plentiful pot-luck lunch. The pot-luck is a much appreciated event at all of our outings. If any of you would like to submit those recipes for our newsletter please email kadhillsgold1@yahoo.com. We also have a very active facebook page at BHprospecting which lets you keep In touch with other members. Nuggets won by: Shirley Winstead, Sandy Hannan and Kathleen Flanagan 50/50 was won by Nelda Theil $32. SEE YOU ALL AT THE YEAR END PARTY OCTOBER 3. COME DRESSED IN YOUR BEST 1872 ATTIRE.

There was an Old Cowboy That lived in A Barn He had too Many Horses But didn t give A Darn He loved them, And Fed Them, And Trained Them to Ride. All Because he Loved How It made him Feel Inside YEP the Year End Party is right around the corner.
