CONGRATULATIONS ANTENNA (IF APPLICABLE) You may have purchased a foldaway antenna for your campervan. To set this up, take it out from the packaging and join together (fig.18). Attach the pole to the clips installed on the side of your van (fig.19). Plug in the cord to the antenna outlet (fig.20). Or - push cord through velcro flyscreen window & plug into TV. (fig.18) (fig.19) (fig.20) HOT WATER SYSTEM (IF APPLICABLE) The hot water is a heat exchange / 240v system The heat exchange will automatically heat the hot water while the engine is running. If using 240v to heat your water, make sure it s switched on at the power point. If you re not using hot water for an extended period, turn it off at the power point. An adjustment valve is located on the hot water line at the side of the unit which can increase (+) or decrease (-) the temperature. You will have hot water in approx. 30 mins. Your campervan is covered by a warranty. This warranty will be null and void if you do not maintain your vehicle or is damaged through your own actions. Warranty support is not available for general wear and tear - & this is where regular servicing and maintenance becomes important. Please note that while every effort has been made to ensure accuracy of content, not every vehicle is built the same & some variations in appliance manufacturer may occur. Note: using a regular rubber garden hose can taint the taste of the water. Water quality will change from location to location, it s a good idea to carry a plug-in water filter which will attach to your hose. To drain the fresh water tank, turn on the water pump and turn on the tap at your sink (or rear shower if applicable), ensure you have a bucket underneath the sinks outlet outside/underneath the camper. The water will start to gurgle when getting low. Turn off pump now. Most campervans do not have grey water tanks so when parked in caravan parks etc. you will need to place a low profile bucket at the drain located around the sink area underneath the van. TIPS: The water cap is locked when it spins freely. To unlock, turn the key to the left, remove key. Push water cap in and turn to the left. To put the cap back on, turn to the right until the cap pops in, push the cap in & turn right until it can t go further. you can then lock it by putting in the key & turning to the right. The cap will now spin freely again. It s a good idea to drain the tank when not in use for a lengthy period, idle water may develop an odour. To remove a smell from your water tank, use one part vinegar to ten parts water & flush the tank out. 2 (fig.17) 11

POP TOP - OPERATION To lift roof, undo the 4 black plastic buckles that hold in the black straps. Facing forward, grab the 2 chrome handles inside & push up about 30cm, the lifting mechanism will now kick in & lift to its full height. Keep holding the chrome handles as it will accelerate quickly, possibly causing damage if let go. TIP: It s a good idea to have a door open when lifting and lowering the pop top to allow air flow for roof movement & allows all the canvas to collapse INSIDE the vehicle with no overhang on the outside. To lower the roof, simply grab the two chrome handles & lower with your body weight - bending your knees to avoid hitting your head. Having a door open will allow air flow & allow the elastic around the canvas to pull the canvas in. Lack of air flow can cause the canvas to blow out towards the push up mechanisms, possibly causing damage. Lock the roof down by putting the black straps back through the plastic buckles. Secure firmly to avoid moving while travelling. POP TOP - MAINTENANCE The pop top roof can be waxed with a good quality car or fibreglass wax. This will increase the life time of the outer finish & give a nice shiny appearance for many years. The lifting mechanisms may require cleaning every now & then to ensure smooth working. They can be scrubbed clean with a nylon brush & water. Once clean & dry, apply a silicon spray to lubricate the moving parts. ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE CHECKLIST ARRIVAL / SET UP You ve arrived at your destination. Here is what you need to do: Turn the front seats around. (VW only) Put the roof up. Plug the power lead into the vehicle. (if at a powered site) Set up your TV antenna. (if applicable) Wind out the awning. DEPARTURE / PACK UP Ready to hit the road again? Here is what to do before you depart: Wind in the awning. Check cupboards are closed and buttons are in. Pack away your TV antenna. (if applicable) Pull the roof down and secure with the straps. If swing out stove - strap in the stove. Unplug the power lead. (If at a powered site) Turn the front seats around. (VW only - seat must be facing forward when in motion) IMPORTANT: Be careful not to get any solvents or oils on the canvas, this may remove water proofing. 10 3

BATTERY CHARGER All Frontline campers are fitted with an automatic charging system for the auxiliary battery. (fig.1). Each time the vehicle is turned on, both the car battery & the auxiliary battery are charged. Once the engine is turned off the two batteries become isolated ensuring the car battery is not discharged by using the auxiliary battery for the appliances. The battery charger is also plugged into a 240v outlet allowing it to be charged when plugged into power. Ensure the switch is on at all times. REAR DOOR TENT Attach skirt, then attach the canvas tent to the press studs installed on the top of your van (fig.12). Then raise the rear door to support the canvas tent (fig.13). CONTROL PANEL - 12V SYSTEM The fuse reset button is located at the centre of the fuse control panel. If 12v power is lost, or the panel has been overloaded the reset button will pop out. Press it in to reset. There are letter symbols for each appliance: F - Fridge, L - Lights, P - Pump (water), A - Accessories. (fig.2) The 12v appliance switches are connected directly to the circuit breaker. The USB outlets and 12v outlets have their own glass fuses. It is rare for a fuse to blow. These are located behind the fuse panel. We recommend you leave the fridge switch on all the time. Only turn on the water pump switch if using the water. * At the time of print Frontline are fitting Federal Batteries which have outlets Australia wide, mostly capital cities. The battery selected is an AGM 100amp & carries a 12 month warranty. (fig.12) (fig.13) THROW OVER ANNEX First attach the skirt to the side of your vehicle. To set up the throw over annex wind out awning to approximately 1.5 metres. Attach the awning legs to your van, then lower the awning down as far as you can. Pull the annex over the awning (fig.14) and secure it by placing it over the awning frame that is attached to the roof of the van (fig.15). Raise the awning legs higher and wind awning out until it meets the line on the canvas annex (fig.16). Put in centre brace of the awning. 4 (fig.14) (fig.15) (fig.16) (fig.1) (fig.2) 9

AWNING To put out your awning, wind out with handle until you can stand in behind it (fig.9). Make sure the wind is not blowing into the awning. Pull legs out & adjust length so that they support the awning when placed on the ground (fig.10). CIRCUIT BREAKER Your campervan is also fitted with a circuit breaker. If you are plugged into 240 volt & have lost power check the circuit breaker (fig.3) by pressing the blue button, if the switch clicks down you have power. You will then need to check the circuit breaker on the pole that you are plugged into if this one is ok then it is likely you have a problem with your power lead. Continue to wind out the awning, walking the legs out as required. You can have the awning legs secured to the side of the van (fig.11) or place on the ground. If the weather is slightly breezy we recommend that you tie down the awning with a couple of guy ropes. Awning should be wound in if there is strong wind. To wind in the awning, just repeat steps in reverse. Always wind your awning in if you are leaving your van & when you go to bed at night. (fig.3) SMOKE ALARM A smoke alarm is fitted to all Frontline campers since April 2011. The battery should be replaced every 12 months. FIRE EXTINGUISHER (fig.9) (fig.10) (fig.11) The fire extinguisher is dry powder & pressurised. At least twice a year it should be removed & turned end for end several times to reduce the powder compressing into a more solid state. Regularly check the guage, if a low level, replace or have recharged by an authorized person. 8 5

METHO STOVE To open the stove turn temperature knobs onto 0 then press on latch and open the lid (fig.4). To fill or light the stove remove the black gaskets from the top of the canisters (fig.5). When in transit replace the black gaskets to reduce spirit vapourising. Fill the canisters by simply removing from the stove & pouring methylated spirits onto the white filter in the centre of the canister. It will hold around 1.2 litres & burn for approximately 8 hours (fig.6). ***Please note: do not use coloured methylated spirits*** FRIDGE Frontline Campervans are fitted with an Engel 80 Litre, 2 way compressor driven fridge, ie 12 volt & 240 volt power. We recommend setting the fridge on 3 in normal conditions (fig.7). Turn thermostat up & down as required. When using the fridge on 240 volt, leave the 12v fridge switch on at the fuse control panel (fig.8). The 240 volt switch will override the 12 volt. This will ensure the fridge still has power when you unplug or if there is a power outage. Light the stove by turning the knob to a high number and igniting with a long stove lighter. A naked flame only is to be used to light the stove. (fig.7) (fig.8) PLEASE NOTE: The Engel fridge has a 3 year warranty from sale date.
