Message from Jolene I feel like I have just finished writing the January/February newsletter and I did! I m putting this newsletter together as I prepare to head to the Land Down Under. By the time you re reading this newsletter, we will have just returned from a 3-week tour of Australia, New Zealand and Fiji. On the heels of that trip, another 37 Connect Club members will be getting ready to discover the country of Panama! Lots of fun and exciting discoveries happening this winter! I have decided to move on to a new discovery in my personal life as well retirement! I will be retiring from my position as the Connect Club Director effective March 31st. However, I have offered to stay on part-time through the end of the year to help get my successor up and running and to make sure the transition is smooth and seamless. We are working diligently to find my successor, so stay tuned for the announcement of your new Connect Club Director in the next issue of Connections! I have had the privilege of working with some wonderful colleagues in my 20 years with FSB, and to say that my last 12 years as Connect Club Director have been a blessing is an understatement. Thank you to each and every one of you who have shared your dreams, lives and friendships with me. I have been so blessed to have been a part of your life, and will be forever grateful for those times shared with you. The good news is that I, too, am a Connect Club member, so I hope to see you at the monthly movies and seminars and perhaps on a trip or two! So I am not saying goodbye only until we meet again! The doors will be open at 8:30 a.m. Enjoy all the free popcorn you can eat and all the pop or coffee you can drink! The concession stand is also open to purchase anything else you might like to have. At 9:15 a.m. we will have announcements, door prizes, and a synopsis of the movies being shown that day with a chance to change theatres for the movie of your choice, and to get those refills before we start the show! Lynette Brenzel, executive director of the Marion Heritage Center, has a short power point presentation with interesting documentaries from some of our local veterans.
