Directions
Check In Procedures Upon arriving at the Fords Farm Recreation Area, you will be met by a member of the support staff and they will direct you to where you may either park for the day or to drop off your Scout. Once parked, please make your way to the Registrar s area, which will be located in the north corner parking lot. If you are dropping off your son and not staying for camp: 1. You MUST have a pre arranged agreement with your unit leader or unit representative for camp. Once your son is signed in and dropped off, your son will need to stay with that leader or representative. The Directors and Support Staff will not be able to watch your Scout. 2. You MUST proceed with your Scout to the Registrar s area. You will receive a wrist band for yourself and your Scout. You must sign both security bands and only you will be able to pick your son up at the end of camp. You must be wearing your wrist band and it will be checked against your Scout s wristband for a match. If someone other than the parent dropping off the Scout will be picking the Scout up, you must speak to the Registrar. Once your Scout is checked in and you both receive a wristband, your Scout can then be put into the care of the pre arranged unit representative. Only one leader from each unit attending camp will be actually checking in for your unit. Do not enter the Registrar s area unless you need medical assistance. Once the Registrar announces sign ins can start, your unit leader for the day will enter the area and proceed through the line to receive their information, and t shirts for the day. Questions will be answered at this time, but try to limit the number of questions to ensure other units can check in. A recommendation is if you have a lot of questions; perhaps make your way to the end of the line. Or, contact the Director s prior to arrival. You need to be assembling as a unit prior to check in. Parents dropping of their Scout MUST do so to a recognized unit leader from your unit. If your son is attending Camp by himself, without a unit, you must speak to a Registrar. The Registrar will gladly assist you and help place the boy into a unit for the day. All Scouts and registered parents/leaders that will be staying for Camp MUST have a filled out Form A and B of the Annual Health and Medical Record. If your son will be taking medications while at Camp, the parent MUST see the on site nurse. Do not leave your son with his medication and leave the grounds without speaking to the nurse! If your son did not get registered by the deadline, he may not receive a t shirt the day of camp.
Check Out Procedures Any Scout, Leader, Parent or visitor arriving on camp grounds, MUST check in and out at the Registrar s area. The Day Camp Staff are responsible for the safety of each person attending camp and must have an accurate record of who is on site and who is not. Periodically staff will conduct a head count and what they have on paper must match those on site. If you are picking up your Scout, remember you must sign out your scout and present proper photo identification. Safety of our Scouts is our number 1 priority. What to Bring and Not to Bring to Day Camp Here is a list of what your Scout is recommended to bring to camp with him: Completed Parts A & B of the Annual Medical Form, emergency phone numbers, sunscreen or sun block, mosquito spray, old sneakers, hat, any medications for the day. You are recommended to contact your on site leader before camp and perhaps arrange for just one bottle of sunscreen/sun block and mosquito spray to be on hand to reduce the amount of items your son will bring to camp. What NOT to bring: pets, bad attitudes, game devices and youth cell phones or media devices. This is a time to have fun outside and enjoy nature, not to be playing electronic games and texting.
