Welcome to the Kingdom of Camp Lewis Cub Scout Day Camp 2012 July 9 th -13 th July 16 th -20 th July 23 rd -27 th Cub Day Camp Monday Thursday: You will need to arrive by 8:15am, opening flag is at 9:00am, and your day will finish by 3pm Cub Day Camp Friday: Arrive at 11:45 am, done at 7pm Thursday, June 21 st 2012 Pre-Camp Leaders Meeting A mandatory pre-camp leader orientation will be held Thursday, June 21 st, 2012, 6 p.m. at Camp Lewis 27000 NE 147 th Ave Battle Ground WA 98604 At least one adult from each pack should attend. This is a very informative meeting that will help all leaders understand the camp rules, procedures, and all the excitement we are planning for the Scouts. Be sure to bring: Medical forms for all Scouts, adults, and Junior Campers. Checkbook to pay for any additional fees and extra T-shirts Questions and concerns T-Shirts All T-shirt orders will be done on line at the time of your reservation. You will be provided with a coupon code that will give all the boys going to camp a free camp shirt. Please be sure to order all your shirts for each boy and adult that would like one. Please be sure to order before May 15 th to ensure delivery for the parent meeting. Daily Arrival You will need to arrive at 8:15am each day except Friday (11:45am) This ensures you get a good parking space and allows you to check in and get settled before opening flag. You will need to check in with our register each day, Take you gear to your den site and prepare for the day.
The S (Safety) Rules At Our Kingdom of Camp Lewis we have some rules. These are our S Rules! Stay with your Buddy. Stay within the boundaries of camp. Shoes always wear them. Slow down We walk in this Kingdom, run only during games. Sanitation wash your hands before you eat and obey proper dining rules. Please use hand sanitizer when water isn t available. Sticks leave them on the ground. Stones leave them with the sticks. Stuff stay out of other people s stuff. Tiger Day Our Tiger day will be July 12 th 2012 from 9am to 2pm. This will be a fun filled day for all incoming Tiger Cubs. It will be $20 per cub. They will do crafts, Archery, BB guns, and scout skills. Den Leaders are asked to Follow the camp schedule. Help set the mood, scouts will follow your lead. The scouts will have fun, if you are. They will talk when you talk and listen when you do. Smoke only in designated areas and out of the sight of Scouts. Bring no children to camp other than Scouts with their den or those in Junior Camp. No pets allowed. Set the example by taking care of litter/trash. Maintain cleanliness of all food and campers. Report all hazards and problems to the Ladies of the Kingdom. Report ALL injuries and illnesses to the Health Officer Den Flag, Yell, and Showcase Be prepared with materials to make a flag for your camp den: fabric, decorations, and a pole (approx. 5 ft.). Each den will be given time at the beginning of the week to construct their flag. Each camp den will come up with a den yell to use in response to role call and as a spirit call. This also is lots of fun for the Scouts. Your den will be asked to prepare a skit or song to present during Friday s campfire. Your camp den name will be available the Thursday before your camp session. What to Bring Lunch for each boy. A den cooler is a good idea to keep food from spoiling in the heat. Lots and lots of water. (Each camper should have a water bottle) Money for the trading post ($5-$7 per day) Sun screen and hand sanitizer
On-site Day Care at Cub Scout Day Camp Camp Lewis provides an on-site day care program (Jr. Campers) for boys 3-6 and girls 3-12 years old. All Jr. Camper s must be out of diapers. The parents MUST be in the camp when the child comes. If your unit has more than three (3) junior campers in a day, you must provide an extra adult to assist that day. Cost is $40 per week or $10 for the day. Activities Archery: Belt loop can be earned. BB Gun: Belt loop can be earned A Scribes Work Shop Chess belt loop Merlin s Flying Disc (Ultimate belt loop) A Knight s tournoment Obstacle Course: The King s Gauntlet Medieval Marbles (Marbles belt loop) Capture the flag (Flag Football Belt loop)...and So Much More! Friday Evening Picnic Extended Families are welcome after 5pm on Friday and can bring a meal or purchase one at camp. Cost: $6 per person Tickets will be available at the Castle during camp hours, or plan to pay at our pre-camp meeting. All tickets must be purchased by Thursday morning of the week of camp. Menu: Fried Chicken, rolls, potato salad, lemonade, watermelon Campfire Program Immediately following the camp Picnic, we will have our campfire program. Each den will present a skit or song, and the staff will also provide some entertainment. Awards and recognition will be presented along with camp patches. Medical forms are also returned to individual dens at this point. The Kingdom Ladies!
