Howard Corey went over the ticket reports and we discussed them at the meeting, they are also on the Website for review. Recent Damages: DOMINION: 1 cut primary, 5 cut 4/0 services, 1 hit pole, 1 hit transformer KDH: None. PNG: None. CURRITUCK CO: 1 hit water line. (Problem with wrong address locates) Upcoming Major Projects: Dominion: 3 rd Roanoke Crossing is complete, Retention pond project in Southern Shores, & Bulkfeeder project, & 90 Town Houses behind KDH Recycle. KDH: Replace culverts and water lines in the Fall. PNG: Services on KH Rd. to Hurricane Mo s in the Fall & Subdivision in Moyock. Currituck Co: None. Old/New Business: Discussed the reminder about customers calling 811 during disasters. The next meeting will be on September 29, 2016 at the Dominion Office at 5300 The Woods Road in Kitty Hawk, NC. If a damage occurs, who calls it in to 811? A. B. and C. And the correct answer is Any witness to a damage, whether they called in the locate request or not is encouraged to contact the utility that was affected and call 811 to have a damage ticket issued.
Alert workers to the heat index anticipated for the day and identify each precaution in place at the work site to reduce the risk of heat-related illness Provide plenty of cool drinking water and disposable cups Actively encourage workers to drink small amounts of water often Establish and enforce work/rest schedules Set up a buddy system Maintain effective communication with your crew at all times Encourage workers to wear sunscreen and use other protections from direct sunlight
