Residential campers enjoy an authentic campus experience, including sleeping and eating in residence halls and enjoying planned evening activities. Counselors supervise students at all times. June Camps Huskie Sports Camps Popular athletics camps include athletic training, baseball, cross country, football, men's soccer, volleyball, and wrestling. Top collegiate coaches provide instruction to young athletes. Campers are grouped according to age and skill level and use NIU facilities. Launch into the stars at 17,500 mph aboard the Children s Community Theatre s very own space command module. Campers will not only learn about the galaxy, but will create their own theatrical performance, complete with cosmic songs and gravitational dance. This two-week camp session runs from 9:00 am until noon each day at Northern Illinois Unversity s O Connell Theatre and concludes with public performances at 7 pm, Friday, June 22 and 2 pm, Saturday, June 23. Creative Writing Campers will develop their skills in writing poetry, fiction, and creative non-fiction. Film Camp Campers will work with experienced media producers, camera operators and directors while learning the basics of digital video production from storyboard to DVD.
