Volume 8 Section 2 Part 2 TD 89/08 Chapter 1 General 1. general 1.1 This Standard replaces TA 89/05 which is withdrawn. 1.2 Design and construction of passively safe structures must be in accordance with BS EN 12767:2007 Passive safety of support structures for road equipment requirements, classification and test methods. 1.3 TA 89/05 has, therefore, been withdrawn The performance requirements for passively safe support structures designed in accordance with this standard must be fully defined in all works information and other documents required to procure these structures. Implementation 1.4 This Standard must be implemented for all trunk road and motorway works except where the procurement of works, at any stage from conception through design to completion of construction, has reached a stage at which, in the opinion of the Overseeing Organisation, use of a particular document would result in significant additional expense or delay progress (in which case the decision must be recorded in accordance with the Overseeing Organisation s procedure). 1/1
