Apologies for Absence: Cllr C Franks Amendment to order of Agenda Some forty members of the public (local residents) had arrived for the meeting, encouraged by social media activity which wrongly suggested that this was a public meeting. This was in reference to a specific planning application which has been lodged with the Vale of Glamorgan. The Chairman stressed that this was a Planning Committee Meeting, and whilst members of the public are welcome to attend, they cannot make representations at the meeting without first having sought the approval of the Chairman. In order to progress the meeting, the order or the agenda was altered to address the application which had elicited such interest from within the community. The planning application in question was on the schedule provided to Committee Members and was listed as Application No2017/00407 75 Cardiff Road, Dinas Powys. Councillors discussed the application and noted submitted objections on the grounds of highways safety and traffic flows, parking needs on site, impact on on-street parking, emergency services access, and adherence to the Local Development Plan. It was AGREED that representation is made that Vale Councillors call in the application so that there can be proper debate at Committee level. It was suggested that all those who have objections regarding this application, submit an objection through the appropriate channels. Members of the public were then informed that the Planning Committee would now return to the agenda. Anyone who wished was welcome to remain and listen to the proceedings.
