TheFBOManagerstatedtheDC 8couldnotremainontherampinfrontoftheFBO foranyextendedperiodandsuggestedpossiblesuitableplacefordc8about0.5 milesawayinanareacurrentlyusedtodismantleaircraft.therearetwowaysto getthere,accessbycartoaspecificgateandalsobyregisteredvehicleandbadged driverusingsecureperimeterroad.ittakesabout5minutestodrivefromthefbo hangartotheareawherethedc 8couldbestaged.Itwouldbepossibletoputone ormoreofficetrailer(s)thereforsomeusablespaceastherearenobuildingsthat couldbeaccessed.however,afterviewingthearea,itisnotclearthatthedc 8 wouldhaveroomtomaneuver(tominimizetugrequirement)inthisarea. AvailableSupportEquipment TheSAAhasavarietyofsupportequipmentavailableforaircraftmaintenanceand movements.theyincludelargetugs,stands(k lifttype),airstairs,etc.acomplete listoftheequipmentisincludedbelow.accesstoanyoneorallofthedevicesis providedforaflatfeeof$150/dayduringthedeployment.therewasaquestion aboutwhowouldoperatetheequipment.thesaarequirestheaircraftfacilityto provideoperatorsandassumeallriskintheuseofthesupportequipment.this equipmentcanbededicatedforourproject,subjectstothefeesnotedabove. InternetAccessandLocalAreaNetwork Thehangariscurrentlyequippedwithbothwiredandwirelessconnectivity.The networkprovidedbytheisp(coxcablecompany)provides10mbpsbandwidth downand2.5to4mbpsupcoaxcableatthepresenttime.inaddition,weweretold bythesaaispcontractor,danmartin,generalmanager(dmartin@isgtech.com), ISGTechnologyInc.(www.isgtech.com),thatthebandwidthonthecoaxcouldbe increasedto50mbpsdown,4mbpsupquiteeasily.itwouldalsobepossibleto bringfiberintothehangarfromthenearbystreettoachieve50 100Mbpsdown bandwidth.thereisalsoasecondunusedcoaxintothehangarshoulditbeneeded.
