Spring Break Camp Rules & Guidelines Please read carefully before enrolling BodyMoves Spring Break Camp is a one week program that provides fun and healthy activities, classes and field trips in a camp like environment, for children ages 4 13 years. The program is offered as a full day child care option for students who are on spring break from school. The program runs concurrent with the Prince George s County Public Schools Spring Break session, April 18-22, 2011. The camp will only operate if P.G. County Public Schools are closed for spring break. Regular Hours of Operation: The hours of operation are Monday-Friday 6:30am until 7:30pm daily. Program Fees & Payment: The cost of the program is $160.00 for the week which includes all activities, field trips and classes. A non-refundable deposit of $50.00 is due at the time of registration. This deposit will hold the campers spot in the camp until April 8, 2011, when the payment balance is due. Any camper who has not paid the balance in full by April 8, 2011, will lose their spot in the program and forfeit their deposit. Registration Form & Health Records: BodyMoves Spring Break Camp is regulated by the Maryland State Department of Education, which requires campers have the proper registration and health and shot records on file prior to attending the program. Campers will not be allowed to start the program until the registration form is completed and signed by parent/guardian, tuition is paid in full and the most recent health and shot records are provided. Students enrolled in Prince George s County public schools can get copies of their health/shot records from their respective schools. Sign-In/Sign-Out: All campers must be signed in and out by a parent or guardian each morning and evening. It is very important that you sign your camper in and out each day. The sign in sheet is used to take attendance in an evacuation emergency. The sign-in/sign-out sheet will be available on the front counter each day. Late Pick-Up: Any camper remaining at the center after 7:30pm will be charged a flat late pick-up fee of $35.00. All late pick up fees must be paid at the time of pick up. Late fees may be paid via cash, check, credit or debit card (we accept Master Card, Visa American Express and Discover credit cards and logo debit cards). The late fee begins at 7:31pm. The clock in the BodyMoves reception area will be used to determine the time. Program Information: Please read any program information that is posted or available at the front counter. Any information relating to field trips, changes or updates to program guidelines, etc. will be either posted or available for pick-up at the front counter at the beginning or end of the day. BodyMoves Spring Break Camp reserves the right to update or change program guidelines as deemed appropriate for the successful operation of the program. 1 Update: 2/18/2011
Food: BodyMoves Spring Break Camp is an activity based program that stresses good health through body movement activities and proper nutrition. In order for your child to participate to his/her fullest potential, he/she must practice good eating habits. Please be aware that children will only be allowed to eat during designated eating times. Breakfast: BodyMoves Spring Break Camp provides a healthy breakfast for any camper who arrives at the center before 7:30am each morning. Campers arriving after 7:30am will not be eligible for breakfast. Campers who do not participate in the breakfast should eat a healthy breakfast at home. The mid-morning snack occurs at approximately 9:30am and lunch period does not start until around 12:30pm. Snacks: A healthy morning and afternoon snack will be provided for all campers. You may send additional healthy snack food with your camper if you feel he/she will want additional food during snack times. Lunch: Lunch is not included in the program. You must therefore pack a healthy nutritious lunch for your camper every day. Limiting the amount of sugar, caffeine, sodium and fat your camper consumes during the day helps him/her to have a more positive attitude with increased energy and stamina. Please do not send candy of any kind in your camper s lunch. Lunches will be kept in a cooler (not a refrigerator) until lunch time. We will not be able to microwave any lunch items for campers. Optional Dinner Service: BodyMoves offers an optional dinner service program for all campers enrolled in the Spring Break Camp Program. This service provides a selection of reasonably healthy, Kid Friendly food items campers may purchase. The selection may vary weekly in an effort to offer variety. The dinner service is a convenient (and easy) way for parents to ensure their campers get something to eat if they are going to be picked up late. The dinner service will begin at 5:30pm each day. Student Spending Account: BodyMoves offers parents the convenience of opening a spending account for their Spring Break Camper. Parents can then deposit money into the account at their convenience via cash, check or credit card. Campers may then use the money for trips or to purchase items from the dinner menu. Spending accounts may be set up at the reception desk. Personal Belongings: BodyMoves Spring Break Camp cannot be responsible for lost, stolen or damaged personal property. Please discourage your camper from bringing personal items to the center. Items that should not be brought to the center include, but are not limited to: toys, MP3 players, CD s, jewelry, hand held games and weapons of any kind. Students should also not bring cell phones to camp. Parents who need to contact their camper for any reason should call on the center phone. Any unauthorized items brought to the center may be confiscated until the parent arrives to pick up the camper. Sick Campers: If your camper is not feeling well, please do not drop him/her off at the center. We do not have the proper staffing or facilities to care for sick children. BodyMoves Spring Break Camp reserves the right to update or change program guidelines as deemed appropriate for the successful operation of the program. 2 Update: 2/18/2011
Behavior: All campers are expected to follow the directions of the teacher/counselor at all times without exception. Campers will be given two opportunities to correct inappropriate behavior. The third time a camper has to be reprimanded; a parent will be called to speak with the camper on the telephone. On the fourth offense a parent will be notified to come and pick up the camper. Hitting and aggressive behavior will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Any camper, who continually misbehaves; is disrespectful to the teacher/counselor or other campers; hits, pushes, spits on, scratches, kicks, or touches anyone in an aggressive or inappropriate manner, may be asked to leave the program permanently. Please explain to your camper that hitting someone in self-defense is still hitting and is not acceptable behavior at BodyMoves Spring Break Camp. If a camper is hit by another child he/she should report it to the teacher/counselor immediately. Missed Days: There are no credits or refunds for missed days regardless of the circumstances. If your camper is going to miss any days of the program, please be advised you will still be required to pay tuition in full. Thank you for taking the time to read this important information. And welcome to BodyMoves Spring Break Camp!
