ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE PROCEDURES First Day of Camp: Check-in will run from 8:15 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. during the Monday of Summer Camp. Ages 4 7: Discovery Campers and Parents/Guardians will check in daily in Colley House. Ages 7 15: Campers and Parents/Guardians will check in daily in the Gymnasium (If your child is registered for our Before Care Program, our staff will be ready at 7:30 a.m. to meet registered campers in Colley House (ages 4-7) or in the gymnasium (ages 7 15). Parents/Guardians should bring their camper to their drop off area (see above) where our Head Instructors will check in your camper(s). Instructors will verify all those authorized to pick-up your child from camp. With parent/guardian permission campers aged 10-15 years are able to sign themselves out of camp. All Other Days: On subsequent days, between 8:30-9:00 a.m. for drop off, parents/guardians have 2 options: a) Park and drop camper(s) off in their camp s designated area b) Choose the Kiss N Ride curbside drop-off option. Please remain in your car, and pull up to the Appleby Camps blue tent at the front of the school where staff will be there to assist you. Before Camp Care: If campers are registered for before camp care, drop-off your loved ones at the Appleby Gymnasium between 7:30 a.m. 8:30 a.m. for before camp care with our amazing instructors. Late Arrivals (after 9:15 am): Campers arriving after 9:15 a.m. must be brought to the Camp office, located in the Athletic Therapy Office beside the gymnasium. Camper will be signed in and a Camp Staff will escort the camper to his/her camp program. This aids us considerably in our attendance procedures and ensures the safety of your children. This will also save the parents/guardians time as we can more efficiently locate your camper s group, rather than searching around campus. Departures: For the Safety of your child, only those on the Authorized to pick-up list (indicated when you registered camper) will be permitted to pick-up your child from camp. If you would like to authorize another adult to pick up your child, or to give your child permission to leave camp by themselves, please inform your head instructor/camp director, email camps@appleby.on.ca or call (905)845-4681, ext. 113. Every camper must be checked out through Appleby Camp Instructors to ensure security. Please establish very clearly with your child exactly who will be taking him/her home, and the time expected. Early Pick-Up: If campers are being picked up early (before 3:30 pm) from camp, the Head Instructor must be notified at drop-off, and the Camp Office must be notified by email, or by phone. Email camps@appleby.on.ca or call (905)845-4681, ext. 113. Late Pick- Up: If you will be unavoidably late picking up your camper, please Email camps@appleby.on.ca or call (905)845-4681, ext. 113. Campers who have not been picked up by 4:00 p.m. will be brought to the Appleby Gymnasium where they will join in with our After Camp Care group. Late fees will apply.

After Camp Care: If campers are registered for extended care, at 3:30 p.m. when their camp program is complete instructors will escort them to the fully supervised activities in the gymnasium. Snack is also provided and fun caring staff will ensure that your camper has fun until 6:00 p.m. daily. Busing: Enjoy the convenience of bus pick-up/drop-off closer to home by registering for our new busing option. Our dedicated bus, staffed by Appleby Camps Instructors who will serve as Bus Captains during the ride will pick up your camper(s) from the location that you indicate from the list below and deliver them to Appleby. The Bus Captains will be on board at pick up to check in your camper and ensure a safe, fun and activity-filled ride to keep the fun going all day long. Please note: You must register for busing at least ten days prior to the start of the camp week, and will be required to choose the pick-up/drop-off location best suited to your family. Morning Pick-Up Each morning between 7:50 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. the bus will arrive at the designated stop to pick up your camper(s). Specific times for each stop are referenced below. One week prior to the start of your camp, an e-mail will be sent notifying you of more details regarding each specific stop. Afternoon Drop-Off At the end of the day campers will be brought back to the same location arriving between 4:15 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. at which time the Bus Captain will sign the camper(s) out with their authorized pick up parent/guardian. LUNCHES (Full-day camps) A hot lunch is provided each day for full day camps with water. We suggest that campers bring a piece of fruit, or other nutritious snack for breaks. Considering the active day in store for them, everyone should have a sound breakfast. To respect children who may have allergies, please do not include snack foods that contain peanut butter or peanut oils. Please note that Appleby College cannot guarantee an allergy-free environment. There is appropriate signage where food may contain peanut ingredients. All campers must be able to identify their own allergies and carry the needed medication for treatment. SWIMMING & LIFE JACKETS FOR WATER PROGRAMS All Summer Camp Programs include recreational swimming time in our indoor pool. Monitored by our National Life Saving Society certified lifeguards. At the start of each week your child will be assessed on his/her abilities in the pool so that all lifeguards and instructors are aware of campers' comfort level and ability in the pool. Swimming is not instructional so parents/guardians who feel that their young camper might need assistance must send a proper fitting life jacket or floatation device so that they can enjoy this wonderful activity in the pool. Please pack a bathing suit, towel and life jacket (if needed) clearly labelled with camper s name. If your child is a non-swimmer, he/she should advise the instructor and not take part and an alternate activity is scheduled during pool time

BEHAVIOUR In all programs at Appleby Camps, the acquisition of skills and high-quality experiences are important. As such, we expect each camper to learn, and to have fun. Along with the teaching of skills, we will also teach and expect demonstration in sportsmanship, co-operation, respect for others and instruction. Conduct: Campers are expected to demonstrate basic respect for the dignity and rights of others. The Director reserves the right to implement an established process and/or suspend and/or terminate the stay of any camper, without refund, who violates the camper Code of Conduct based on the following guidelines: zero tolerance of physical or psychological abuse/bullying; lack of respect for camp property and the property of others; behaviour that requires supervision beyond a reasonable level or behaviour deemed inappropriate by Appleby College Camp staff. Please remember that the rules and regulations exist to enable the summer camps to run smoothly and create a safe and enjoyable environment for your child.
