The Connemara Golf Links, designed by Eddie Hackett, has been acknowledged as the equal to any other course in the world and is set among the scenic splendour of the 12 Bens Mountain range and rugged Atlantic Ocean.

Clifden, The Capital of Connemara, Co Galway Clifden, Connemara set between the Atlantic Ocean, 12 Ben Mountains and preserved bog lands, lays the town of Clifden on the Coast of Connemara. Enhanced by spectacular scenery, championship golfing, horseriding, walking, cycling, hill walking, beaches, fishing, scuba diving, painting, national parks, abbeys, castle ruins and over 5,000 years of living history. You can take a wonderful walk up the Sky Road, it is a great way to see the wonderful backdrop to the town along with the two church spires, which give Clifden its distinctive skyline. Along the Sky Road is a gateway leading to the ruins of the old D Arcy mansion, Clifden Castle. Once a Gothic Mansion, the D Arcy s lived here until 1850 when the estate was sold to the Eyre Family who lived here at intervals until the castle fell into ruin in the early 20th century. Clifden town, the the Capital of Connemara, oozes history, heritage, culture & traditions of Irish Music and Dance. This vibrant town has an array of shops ranging from quality gifts, souvenir, sweaters, to fashionable boutiques, antique shops and art galleries. There are many cosy coffee shops, bakery, pubs that are genuine quaint-irish to the more trendy where entertainment is plentiful with traditional, modern music and dance. Clifden has a reputation for the West s Gourmet Capital it has the finest of restaurants from fine dining to pub food.

Cleggan/Claddaghduff:, Co Galway Ireland Cleggan Village is a small idyllic fishing village nestling at the head of Cleggan Bay on Connemara s Atlantic Coast. This village is the centre of the fishing industry in North West Connemara. Cleggan Village has four bars (Oliver s, Joyce s, Newman s, and The Pier Bar), one grocer, a post office, restaurant and take-away. There is traditional music regularly in the summer, and an excellent restaurant in Oliver s Bar. There is also a children s playground next to the community centre. There is an annual festival in Cleggan Festival of the Sea. It is the mainland port for Inishbofin Island and the other islands off the coast. Boats for deep sea angling and island trips are available for hire at Cleggan. The unique Island of Inishbofin is located only 10 kilometres off the north Connemara coast, and is only a 30 minute crossing from Cleggan. The Ferry Service is aboard the fast, comfortable ferry The Island Discovery. Near By Village, Claddaghduff, also have a pub, shop & post office and Church. From Claddaghduff you can access Omey Island; this island can be reached on foot at low tide. There are fine strands and pony races take place in August. In the sand hills of the northern shore are the ruins of Teampall Féichin (Temple Feheen) a small medieval church, preserving the memory of the monastery founded by Saint Féichin of Cong. On the western shore is Tobar FéichIn Féichin s Well.

Letterfrack/Kylemore/Renvyle, Co Galway Letterfrack is a quaint small village set in the heart of Connemara in direct vicinity to some of Connemara s main attractions. It is easily accessible from the capital of Clifden which is just a short 15 minute drive. Letterfrack is located at the foot of the Connemara National Park. The Diamond Hill Trail in the Connemara National Park is well sign-posted and highly accessible walkway for families, and those who make it to the top are rewarded with expansive panoramic vistas across Connemara. There are four trails in Connemara National Park. A Must when you visit Connemara. There is also a lovely coffee shop and great playground for the kids. Just 4 kilometres from Letterfrack is Irelands most visited tourist attraction Set in the dramatic Connemara landscape, Kylemore Abbey is the no. 1 must-see attraction in the west of Ireland. The castle was originally built by Mitchell Henry in 1867 as a romantic gift for his beloved wife. In 1920 the Benedictine Community came to Kylemore and Kylemore castle became Kylemore Abbey. Kylemore estate is steeped in history with tales of tragedy and romance, engineering initiatives, model farms, royal visits, spirituality and education. There are many nature trails, woodland and lakeshore walks and a children s play trail waiting to be discovered. Tully Village, Renvyle derives its name from An Tulach, the hill to the south of Tully Lough, and has a full range of services, filling station, shops, pubs and cafe. It is. Just 5 kilometres away is Letterfrack and 21 kilometres to Leenane Village.

Roundstone, Co Galway The village of Roundstone lies on the western arm of Bertraghboy bay in Connemara, Co. Galway, 48 miles (77km) north-west of Galway city. This Connemara village is beautifully set on one of the most spectacular coastal drives in Ireland overlooking the Atlantic at the foot of Errisbeg Mountain. Over the years Roundstone village in Connemara has attracted national and international artists to work in Roundstone. The village has an ample amount of excellent bars and restaurants. Its traditional craft centre; selling locally produced handmade pottery, jewellery and musical instruments. Roundstone is teeming with festivals and events during the summer months, such as the local regatta and the pony show; all of which are great family days out! Ballyconneely Village boasts 2 shops, a post office, pub/restaurant and playground.
