We will visit Guinness Storehouse to hear the story of this iconic drink, touring the seven floors here which bring to life the heritage of Guinness from its early days to growth as a global brand, known and enjoyed all around the world. What better place to savor a pint of Guinness than sitting high above Dublin in the Guinness Storehouse Gravity Bar as you may just agree with at the end of today s tour. We will also attend mass in a local church in Dublin today (mass times TBC) and after a busy getting acquainted with the city, we will return to our hotel and you are free to enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Dinner: On Own ~ Overnight: The Hilton Hotel Kilmainham ~ Golf Options Available This Morning (Additional Cost) Monday June 18 The Magic of Meath This morning after breakfast we set out to visit one of the true wonders of Ireland's Ancient East. Brú na Bóinne (Palace of the Boyne) is one of the most important prehistoric landscapes in the world, in fact it is Ireland s most famed UNESCO World Heritage Site. But first, we will visit EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum, a wonderfully dramatic modern interactive experience that showcases the unique global journey of the Irish People. We will then set out to visit Brú na Bóinne, which refers to the area within the bend of the River Boyne that contains one of the world s most important prehistoric landscapes. The archaeological landscape within Brú na Bóinne is dominated by the three well-known large passage tombs - Knowth, Newgrange and Dowth were built some 5,000 years ago in the Neolithic or Late Stone Age and contain the largest assemblage of megalithic art in Western Europe. Brú na Bóinne was inscribed as a World Heritage Site in December 1993 in recognition of its outstanding universal value. The scale of passage tomb construction,

the important concentration of megalithic art as well as the range of sites and the long continuity of activity were cited as reasons for the site s inscription. Today we will visit the Passage Tomb of Knowth. Once our tour concludes, we return to the hotel to relax in our surroundings and enjoy the day at leisure. Dinner: On Own ~ Overnight: The Hilton Hotel Kilmainham (B) Tuesday June 19 Next Stop Waterford Following breakfast this morning, we will bid farewell to Dublin to search to new adventure in Waterford, the oldest city in Ireland famed in equal parts for its crystal production and Viking history. On route, we will visit the magnificent Powerscourt House and Gardens. Powerscourt House boats 800 years of history. Where Powerscourt House stands today there was once a 13 th century medieval castle, owned by the Le Power Family from which Powerscourt takes its name. The Gardens at Powerscourt are one of the most beautiful gardens in Ireland! They were laid out over two main periods. Many of the people involved in their creation and development never saw the gardens completed in their lifetime. When you arrive at the treelined avenue today, hundreds of beech trees will guide your visit. We then continue our journey into Wicklow as we stop to visit one of Ireland s most famous attractions, Glendalough Monastic Site, a fascinating early Christian settlement positioned in a glaciated valley with two lakes which founded by Saint Kevin in the 6th century. Despite attacks by Vikings over the years, Glendalough thrived as one of Ireland s great ecclesiastical foundations and schools of learning until the Normans destroyed the monastery in 1214 A.D. Here, we will hear the fascinating story and tour the grounds of the Monastic City which consists of a number of monastic remains dating from the 10 th to 12 th centuries. We continue to the walled city of Waterford which was founded by Vikings in 914 AD and during the Norman Invasion of Ireland, King Henry II of England came to Waterford in 1171 and declared it one of two royal cities in Ireland, the other being Dublin. Dinner & Overnight: The Athenaeum House Hotel Waterford (B, D) Wednesday June 20 Next Stop Kinsale www.caragrouptravel.com 2 617-639-0273

After breakfast this morning we will depart Waterford to embark on Kinsale the picturesque yachting harbor along the coastline of Co. Cork. Before leaving Waterford, we visit a local attraction with a global reputation, the House of Waterford Crystal. A unique highlight of the visit here is the factory tour which gives an up close insight into the centuries old tradition of Waterford Crystal making. Feel the heat of the furnace and marvel at the skills of the craftsmen who continue to provide some of the most prestigious trophies to the world s great sporting events made at the facility including the Irish Open Golf Trophy, Solheim Cup (Ladies Ryder Trophy) and The People Choice Awards, to name but a few. We then journey south to reach Co. Cork, nicknamed the The Rebel County due to a history of independence from the Viking invasions to the Irish War of Independence. Here we will stop off in the town of Cobh, we will visit the historic port town of Cobh. It is from this town that over 2.5 million Irish people emigrated. Many would have attended mass at the beautiful Cathedral overlooking the port prior to their departure. Cobh was also the last port from which the Titanic left on April 11th, 1912. We will visit the Cobh Heritage Centre, a beautiful, informative and sometimes emotive cultural Centre which exhibits the story of the emigrants who passed through this port town in the post and the hardships many endured doing so. Following on from Cobh we will continue onto Kinsale for checkin and you can now relax in your surroundings and join the group and Fr Condon for dinner later that night in the hotel. Dinner & Overnight: Trident Hotel (B, D) www.caragrouptravel.com 3 617-639-0273 Thursday June 21 A Day Well Spent in Blarney & Kinsale This morning after breakfast we venture to the village of Blarney, where we visit Blarney Castle and Gardens. Built nearly 600 years ago, millions have been flocking to it ever since making it a world landmark and one of Ireland s greatest treasures. This may have something to do with legendary Blarney Stone, kiss it and you ll never be lost for words. Here you will also find Blarney Woolen Mills which was built in 1823 and was mainly used mainly for spinning and weaving wool. The mill briefly closed for two years between 1973 and 1975, after which it was re-opened as an Irish heritage shop with a now famously large selection of Irish products

including sweaters and woolens, crystal and china, gifts and souvenirs. Enjoy an Irish shopping experience here. We will return to the hotel where you are free to spend leisure time in Kinsale as you wish. An afternoon for choice, decide for yourself if you want to explore one of Ireland s most picturesque towns thanks to its waterfront location, head out and play the 18 holes with stunning views at one of the most recognized and sought after golf experiences anywhere on earth at Old Head of Kinsale or join the afternoon visit and guided tour of the Charles Fort, which was actively used for military purposes up until 1922 and has most of the original construction which began in 1678.
