Half Day 3hours in the city + ½ hour traveling time Gold Reef Gold Reef City A premier entertainment destination, reminiscent of an authentic turn-of-the-century mining town which is conveniently situated close to the centre of Johannesburg. It shows Johannesburg as it was at the time of the discovery of gold. Included in the tour is a journey down the mine shaft (220 m) and a gold-pouring demonstration. Apartheid Museum An official policy of racial segregation formerly practised in the Republic of South Africa. This museum next to Gold Reef City illustrates the rise and fall of apartheid. Visitors walk through the 22 individual exhibition areas, which contain film footage, photographs, text panels and artefacts illustrating the events and human stories behind apartheid. The tour is self-guided, but our tour guide will be available to answer any questions.
