OUR FACILITIES AND FOOD All campers sleep in cabins that create a comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere. Beds are twin sized bunks with 6 inch thick mattresses. Counselors sleep in the cabin with the campers and are available to assist any time of the night. Most cabins have indoor fireplaces and common areas to hang out, play cards and make friends during down time. Camp has a boy s side and girl s side, each with its own bathhouse with private showers (the bathhouses are cleaned daily). Campers attend the bathhouses as a group, supervised by staff. Shower times are scheduled at the end of the day with the youngest campers first. Meals are eaten in the dining hall, the largest building at camp. Food is prepared in our modern kitchen under the direction of our fabulous food service manager. Our kitchen is inspected annually by the health department and has an outstanding record for cleanliness and quality. Our meals are well balanced with a full salad bar available at least once per day. We are able to accommodate any dietary restrictions your camper might have. Parents are encouraged to be involved with making sure campers have a fun, safe and comfortable experience at camp. We would love to give you a tour anytime, just give us a call. 5 Kress Lodge YMCA CAMP U-NAH-LI-YA 715 276 7116 CAMPUNAHLIYA.ORG

4 AND 6 DAY SPECIALTY AREAS During the morning, resident overnight campers will spend their time receiving in-depth instruction in one of our six Specialty Areas. When you register, please be sure to select your camper s main interest and a secondary interest so that we can get your camper into the area of their choice. We will do our very best to get campers assigned to their first selection, but Specialty Areas are assigned on a first come, first served basis. We will occasionally have to place campers in their second choice to maintain quality of programming. Campers will progress through program challenges and learn in-depth skills in their selected specialty area. WATERCRAFT The area includes kayaking, canoeing, sailing, paddle boats, and paddleboards. Campers learn the safety and skills needed to master the water! MARKSMANSHIP This area includes archery, riflery and slingshots. It starts with safety and basic techniques, then progresses to advanced techniques and competitions. We focus on the sport from a marksmanship perspective. ARTS, CRAFTS, AND DRAMA Campers discover the great Northwoods as well as make friendships while working on awesome art projects and practicing their creative drama skills. This area combines nature education with hands on creative arts. 8

SELECT YOUR SPECIALTY AREA SURVIVAL SKILLS This area focuses on mastering the forces of nature to survive and thrive in the great outdoors. Campers learn skills in camp craft, fire building, fishing, food gathering, water purification and other survival techniques used by US Special Forces. ADVENTURE SPORTS Campers in this specialty area will get a taste of outdoor adventure and excitement. The week is spent learning rock climbing, biking, orienteering and lake kayaking. BTG (BIG TEAM GAMES) Does your child love sports? Each morning campers in BTG will play big team games including; dodgeball, soccer, basketball, tennis, volleyball, baseball and disc golf. 9 YMCA CAMP U-NAH-LI-YA 715 276 7116 CAMPUNAHLIYA.ORG

Leadership for Teens ages 15-17 TEEN LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS Our Teen Leadership Programs give your teen a chance to develop their skills working with campers, their team, and our staff of mentors. Designed for high school students, the CIT program concentrates on building the skills needed to be an effective counselor and youth mentor. CIT (Ages 15-17) The first week of the CIT session focuses on learning effective leadership, teamwork, communication, problem solving, and how to be a positive role model to youth. CITs spend the second week of their session shadowing a camp counselor and working directly with a group of campers to assist in activities. No experience required. The weekend stay-over is included with the camp fee. During the weekend, the CITs form even tighter bonds as they go on a 2 night 3 day pack-out to practice their skills. During the second week the CITs will facilitate overnight trips, with the guidance of our counselors, for campers in our resident camp program. Each CIT will have the chance to plan, coordinate and lead campers on overnight camp-outs.
