Crocker Coat of Arms Origins: English Brief Family History Spelling variations of this family name include: Croker, Crocker, Croager, Crough, Croaker, Croke and others. First found in Devonshire where they held a family seat from very ancient times. Some of the first settlers of this family name or some of its variants were: Edward Crocker of Boston, who was the public executioner in 1684; Daniel Crocker of Boston; Francis Crocker of Marshfield, originally of Barnstaple in Devon. Motto Translated: God feeds them. Coat of Arms: A silver shield with a red chevron engrailed between three ravens. The Crocker family is another of my favorite branches of our family tree. I have traced the family back to Arthur Crocker, born 1720 in North Carolina. He and several generations of his decendants were born and died on the family plantation on a Crocker land grant on the Packolate River in Spartanburg, South Carolina. By 1880, the Crockers and McCords were all living in Paris (Lafayette County) Mississippi. Paris Mississippi was settled in 1836, but wasn't incorporated until 1873. The Crockers and McCords came to Cass County together and were settled in by 1910.
