Hurricane hole: most pristine mangrove/ juvenile fish nursery habitat remaining in USVI. Many corals on mangrove prop roots.

Consider deploying along the beach 1,000 ft. of diversion boom. Boom across from Mary's pt. to Whistling Cay would protect beaches from Francis to Peter's. Private property is at the western side of Maho Beach. Maho Beach is a high recreational area. Whistling Cay has seabirds, coral reefs, and archeological sites. A boom can be extended from Mary Point to Whistling Cay to divert oil from Francis and other north shore beaches. Prevailing winds are offshore from Francis and Maho beaches so surface currents would tend to carry oil away from these beaches.
