ITINERARY DAY 1: BUENOS AIRES On arrival in Buenos Aires you will be met by your guide at arrivals and transferred to your hotel in the heart of the historic French quarter of Recoleta, one of the most elegant parts of the city they call 'The Paris of South America'. DAY 2: BUENOS AIRES Your first full day in captivating Buenos Aires begins with a visit to the bustling waterfront district of Puerto Madero, before continuing on to explore the traditional houses of La Boca. Then it is on to San Telmo, the city's oldest barrio (neighbourhood), with its bohemian charm, tango rhythms and antique churches. A final visit to the upmarket districts of Recoleta and Palermo is then followed by an evening enjoying the city's famous nightlife, with dinner and a tango show at Rojo Tango. (B,D) DAY 3: BUENOS AIRES - COMODORO RIVADAVIA This morning you will fly down to the majestic setting of Patagonia and transfer on to your romantic eco-lodge on the coast. The drive takes you across the beautiful Patagonian steppes and, on arrival, your hosts will be on hand to help organise your activities for the days ahead. The region is one of the most picturesque in Patagonia and options for your stay here include boat trips out to the nearby islands, hiking or riding excursions through the surrounding canyons, historic tours and insightful visits to traditional ranches. (B,L,D) DAY 4: COMODORO RIVADAVIA BahÍa Bustamante is a haven for wildlife, from penguins and seals to a rich array of birdlife. DAY 6: COMODORO RIVADAVIA - MENDOZA Transferring back to the airport this morning you will then fly on to Mendoza, set amongst the hills and vineyards of north western Argentina. The flight takes you by way of a brief touchdown in Neuquen, after which you will be taken on to your luxury lodge in the heart of the country's famous wine region. These rich landscapes are home to Argentina's famed Malbec wines, the perfect accompaniment to some choice gourmet fare. (B) DAY 7: MENDOZA With a full day to explore the region's renowned vineyards, today provides an opportunity to discover some of the country's most prized vintages. You will visit two wineries today, travelling through idyllic Andean countryside as you savour the chance to sample some of Argentina's finest wines. Lunch then provides a chance to indulge in a delicious 'Seven Fires' dining experience. Designed by local chef, Francis Mallman, it includes a choice menu of slow-grilled rib eye and cast-iron baked salmon, all cooked the traditional gaucho way, over an open flame. (B,L) DAY 8: MENDOZA Day at leisure, to relax or enjoy more outdoor activities. (B) DAY 9: MENDOZA - BUENOS AIRES Transfer to the airport for the flight back to Buenos Aires. On arrival back in the capital, you will then be driven on to your hotel in the chic Palermo district of the city.
