Introduction The 2012 Australian Forest Growers (AFG) National Conference will explore the growing, using and environment opportunities for forestry in the sub tropics in the 21 st century. It will be held in Gympie, an historic and focal timber town in South East Queensland. This event is the premier national conference for the private forestry industry and is a well established and supported conference. With AFG in its 44th year, up to 350 delegates are expected to attend this conference. Meeting the high standards set by previous AFG conferences, Gympie AFG 2012 will be informative, challenging and entertaining, offering: Field trips to a wide range of forests and processors; Presentations from respected and experienced forest scientists, growers, business managers and policy makers; and Extensive social and networking opportunities. High quality presenters will draw on the latest science, industry expertise and real-world examples to forecast what will be Australia's forests of the future in terms of: Growing (plantation species performance, private native forestry, silvicultural techniques, new prospects, innovation); Products and markets (market information, processing technology advances and innovation); and Integration (how to work with government policy, forestry in the social landscape, understanding the big issues carbon, bio-energy, certification, risk mitigation, etc). Field Trips will complement the presentation sessions, taking delegates to a wonderful range of leading examples of forestry found in the Gympie region including: Private native forestry; Softwood processing; Native hardwood processing; and Local forestry icons. Throughout the conference there will be many chances to network with the delegates and their partners at formal sessions and events including: Sunday 14 October - Registration & Ice Breaker Reception. Monday 15 October - Conference sessions. Tuesday 16 October - Conference field trips (off site) & Conference dinner. Wednesday 17 October - Conference sessions. Program The pre-conference tour will leave from Brisbane and visit sites of interest associated with farm forestry and a range of plantation types and species in the NSW Northern Rivers/Kyogle area (1 day only) and Southeast Queensland. It will take in stops across the Northern Granite Belt and Southern Darling Downs and head through the Southern and Northern Burnett regions before heading down to the Wide Bay area and Hervey Bay to provide the option and concluding tour highlight of a day tour of the iconic Fraser Island. $5,000.00 (excludes GST) 8

Proposed Conference field tours 1. Araucaria Tour Visiting the growing and milling of this important local species as well as some hardwood plantations. 2. Southern Pine and Processing Tour There are several processors (MDF board, yellow tongue chip board and wet and dry milling) of the largest pine plantations in Queensland, which surround Gympie. You ll get a chance to get up close and personal with both growing and using this resource. 3. Mary Valley Farm Forestry Tour Inspecting farm forestry options along the Mary River, which includes the area that was proposed for inundation by the Traveston Dam. 4. Plantation Hardwood Through the Ages Taking a look at the original government joint venture, giant Gympie Messmates in state forest, early plantation trials and more recent hardwood plantings. 5. Dry Sclerophyll Private Native Forestry Inspecting milling, large private forests with permanent growth plots and integrated grazing and pole production mainly from Spotted Gum. 6. Wet Sclerophyll Forest Visiting the Blackbutts growing in the mountains as well as local milling and fire management sites. $4,000.00 (excludes GST) for each tour The field trips radiate in many directions from Gympie and each covers a variety of forestry aspects including processing, growing and research, all highlighting how our forests will give us a better future. 9

Here is an opportunity to get into the hands of each delegate by providing specific information in the satchels that will directly target each delegate. $500.00 (excludes GST) In Kind Sponsorship Financial sponsorship is preferred however the conference committee welcomes the opportunity to negotiate individual in kind' sponsorship of the conference. This may come in the form of a product and/or service that has a direct value to the conference organisers and/or conference delegates. Some items required for the conference include: Hard hats for field trips; Safety glasses; Hi-vis safety vests for field trips; Hats; and/or Water bottles. Tree Farmer of the Year Sponsorship The Australian Forest Growers (AFG) Tree Farmer of the Year Award honours and acknowledges landowners or private forest managers who, by their personal efforts, have demonstrably managed to establish or maintain areas of forest on their property for the purposes of sustainable commerce in the products attainable from trees, protection for either catchments or crops, or for reasons of preservation of biodiversity or a particular forest ecosystem. Sponsorship of the AFG National Tree Farmer of the Year Award includes: Acknowledged official sponsor of the 2012 National Tree Farmer of the Year Award; Presentation at the dinner, which includes awarding of a cheque for $5,000 to the winner; Company logo featured on screen during Award presentation; Company logo on conference program and registration brochure; Company logo on conference website with hot link to your site; and Two complimentary tickets to the Conference Dinner on Tuesday night. $7,000.00 (excludes GST) Individual Sponsorship Packages The conference committee also welcomes the opportunity to negotiate individual sponsorship packages to meet the specific needs of your marketing or promotional requirements. General Conditions & Requirements All company representatives must complete a conference registration form (for name tag/catering purposes). Satchel Insert material is limited to a brochure no larger than an 8 page A4 size document unless otherwise stated. Delegate database will consist of all delegates and their place of origin other than those who have indicated they do not want their details provided. Display areas may vary due to unforeseen access or structural issues, every reasonable effort will be made to accommodate sponsor needs in this circumstance. Field Trip and Pre Conference Tour Sponsorships must be committed by 30 April 2012, to enable the entitlement for contribution to field trip itinerary. Conference committee reserves the right to final say on tour itinerary and inclusions. Additional function tickets may be purchased at the nominated rates. A completed & signed Sponsorship Confirmation Form must be submitted to initiate sponsorship. A Tax Invoice will be provided upon receipt of confirmation form. The sponsorship will not be deemed confirmed until the required deposit has been paid. Trade display sites will not be allocated unless required payment has been made. The sponsorship prospectus as described herewith is indicative only, and may be subject to changes by AFG and the Conference Organising Committee. Arrangements for payments by installment can be negotiated for high level sponsorships. 11
