CPEM 2018: Conference on Precision Electromagnetic Measurements The 31 st edition of the CPEM, «Conference on Precision Electromagnetic Measurements» will be held in Paris from the 8 th to the 13 th of July 2018. It is the most important scientific and technological conference in the domain of electromagnetic measurements at the highest accuracy levels. Jointly hosted by the Laboratoire National de métrologie et des Essais (LNE), the Observatoire de Paris and the Centre national de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), the conference will cover the frequency range from direct current (DC) to the optical region and will concern applications related to electrical measurements, time and frequency measurements, optical and radiometric measurements. 2018 is expected to be a watershed year in the history of the international system of units (SI), with the definitions of the SI units being revised to be based on a set of seven defining constants. CPEM 2018 will provide a privileged opportunity to mark this milestone of the SI through a natural focus on quantum devices that relate electrical measurement standards to fundamental constants of physics. CPEM 2018 will also be the place to share knowledge on research in electromagnetic metrology focused on present and future challenges regarding industry and society in sectors such as Energy, Information and Communication Technology (nanomaterials, internet of things ), quantum engineering, Industry 4.0 More than 400 participants from over 40 countries across the world are expected to attend CPEM 2018.
