CONCLUSIONS a) b) The waste treatment concept for inland navigation covers all operational segments of the activity - it covers a distinguished geography (IWT - Hinterland network) - compared to maritime navigation it has a different context and different ranges It largely stands on its own - no direct interference with the Directive 2000/59/EC (Port Reception Facilities) - distinguished & dedicated financing arrangements (regulatory and market-supported) c) Interface in the seaports between the maritime and the IWT facilities: - common use of the cargo-related waste facilities (dry / liquid / gaseous) - important economies of scale feasible European Parliament Brussels, 6 November 2012: CCNR Hans van der Werf 13
