The Good ams Club is an international organization of recreational vehicle (V) owners and the largest organization of V owners in the world. It is focused upon making Ving safer and more enjoyable, and to save members money through club-endorsed benefits and services. This year Good ams Club is Celebrating 5 years. JX ambling ams Chapter # from Jacksonville, Florida is proud to be affiliated with this wesome organization of V ers. The club s name comes from the ible parable of the Good amaritan, which tells of a traveler from the region of amaria who helped a person along the road who had been robbed and beaten. Today, JX ambling ams would like to thank the Florida tate taff who so perilously jumped at the opportunity to establish a new ally Location at the North Florida Fairgrounds in Tallahassee, Florida. Their untiring work and dedication was to make sure that this new Winter ally was a successful. Their success was evident by all who attended. HOT s NOT FO CH CP OUT The arch camp out is scheduled for Jennings Outdoor esort. Jennings is an older campground, but the facilities are good. The entree for the pot luck supper on aturday will be baked ham. Please plan an accompanying dish accordingly. I have plans to attend my great-son s first birthday party in tlanta. These plans are not finalized as of this writing. We are looking for a good camp out with great weather. I am anticipating the arly ird day supper at Cowboy s in Lake Park, Georgia. James Walters Potpourri ttention ll Jax amblers: We are way behind on providing hosts for our camping. We need a host for June, July and also eptember. If you volunteer for one month, and something comes up, one of your team mates will step up and take over for you. Please think about hosting at a camp out of your choosing for one of these months. James. Glenn suggests that during the ay camp out at N ayport, we visit the really near by Hanna Park to see if that site would be suitable for us. In eptember, the children are back in school and the ocean is still warm, so we could enjoy camping there. No special requirements for entry there. re the trees being cut enough to allow an V to travel and park on the grounds? NOT: The Current roster of our membership (just page ) is on the newsletter page. Check your entry for errors. TH PIDNT OX FUY 6 Welcome to the 6 s first ally at the North Florida Fairgrounds in Tallahassee Florida. The tate taff (Ds) deserve a loud and long applause for putting this ally together in such a short time and at a new campground. The folks at the fairgrounds did their best to accommodate this ally. The fairground management stated that they were in a progressive program to upgrade the fairgrounds to attract more camping type venues. During the tate Committee meeting, Joe Weston stated he was going to sign a two-year contract with the fairgrounds management team. He also stated that there would not be any National allies; however, egional allies may become a reality. The Florida Guide Dogs made a presentation to the committee and all agreed that they were on the right tract to get their house in order. ll voted to release the funds to them from Good ams of Florida. Our chapter did release the funds at the ustis ally last year. y overall perspective of the ally at Tally was positive, even the rains. The indoor buildings were large and heated. I know that the next ally at Tally will be much improved because the state staff will have a much better planning window. I recently e-mailed the registration form for the ally in Okeechobee, Florida in pril. I hope to see all of you at the ally. There will be a caravan leaving on Tuesday for the campers going in on the early bird day Tuesday. I sent Joe a volunteer form from Jax ambling ams for the Wednesday morning ausage and iscuits. During the ally, Jax ambling ams had a very good showing for the Wednesday sausage & biscuit breakfast. Thanks to all who helped make this a success. We also had a affle that was held in the building next to the meeting hall. nn mos had suggested that we get a small camper size electric heater to raffle off. We purchased the heater at a discount for $4., and the ladies decided to add the hundred dollars in cash on the top. Our raffle had a value of $5.. We had a Heater Tree and WOW did it bring in the $$$. The treasurer will provide the exact amount at the next business meeting in arch. Travel to Tallahassee North Florida Fair Grounds was approximately hours. any of us met at the anderson est rea departing at 9. arch will be next meeting at the Jennings Outdoor esort in Jennings, Florida. ddress: 9 Hamilton ve, Jennings, FL 5. The Wagon aster s Log for February, 6 J WLT Good am defines a Caravan as being three or more rigs traveling together to a ally. ach state has it s own patch for a caravan. dditional caravans to that state earn a satellite patch to accompany the initial patch. Caravans to local camp outs do not qualify for a patch, but they make travel more fun and safer. The fact is that you are not traveling alone in case of trouble.
