National Conference Exhibition and Awards Date & Venue: 1 st November, Park Plaza Victoria, London Who attends? Circa 250 BESA members, specifiers, industry bodies and industry press. Attendees include CEO/MD, Technical Directors, Commercial Directors, Building Managers, Project Directors and Senior Project Managers Sectors include domestic & commercial plumbing, pipework and plant, ductwork, refrigeration and air conditioning, heat pump, service & facilities. Conference The theme will centre around change in the built environment, including the outcomes of the Hackitt Review, the impact of the Carillion liquidation and technical advancements. Seminars will focus on key technical areas including refrigeration, ductwork, ventilation hygiene, indoor air quality and HIU's among others. Exhibition space featuring the latest innovations in the industry from around 30 high profile exhibitors. Seminar and exhibition areas are all on one floor and completely integrated. Gala Awards Black tie dinner celebrating the best talent from the regions, culminating in a national Apprentice of the Year award. Drinks reception on arrival, formal three course dinner, high profile after dinner speaker, entertainment and disco.
2017 Review The inaugural BESA National Conference, Exhibition and Awards Dinner took place on October 19 th 2017 at the Park Plaza Riverbank Hotel, London. With around 170 delegates in attendance and after some breakfast refreshment, the day began with a keynote session from Ms Shirley Rodrigues, Deputy Mayor for the Environment and Energy outlining the plan for London s Environment Strategy. The day concluded with the BBC s Business Doctor Dr Paul Thomas looking at leadership and sustainability within the industry. Sandwiched in between the two keynotes there were further presentations from industry experts covering a diverse range of topics including Air Pollution, Cyber Security, Heat Pumps, Waterborne Contamination, HIU Testing, Contractual Awareness, BIM and Smart Contracts Construction, Refrigerant Phasedown and Mental Health Awareness with the industry sector. With various other product launches and panel debates the delegates, were kept up to date and informed on many of the latest challenging topics that the Building and Engineering Services sector currently faces.
2017 Review In many of the regular refreshment breaks the delegates had ample time to meet with just over 20 exhibitors to discuss how their products and services could be beneficial for their own businesses. MD s, Technical Directors, Commercial Directors and Senior managers from BESA member companies and organisations including Imtech Engineering Services, Engie, Bouygues, Gratte Brothers, Hargreaves, TRS, Interduct, Skanska, Balfour Beatty, Stothers M+E, Sodexo and the NHS were welcomed on the exhibition floor to meet the exhibiting companies. Exhibitors included: Chemours Group (Opteon), SimPro Software, Arthur J Gallagher, Joblogic, Evinox Energy, Skillcard, GB3, Mates in Mind, Congrid, Frese, Thermal Integration, ED Controls, Blue Diamond Pumps, SWEP International AB, SFG20, Gebhardt-stahl, Refcom, Digital Catapult, BESCA and Print. Once the education programme had concluded and business agreed on the exhibition floor over 200 guests attended the Gala Awards Dinner where the business owners, apprentices, nominees and winners celebrated being part of the Building and Engineering Services Sector.
