Queensland Quicksilver Cruises Travel with Australia's most awarded Great Barrier Reef tour operator. With a choice of wonderful day trips, Quicksilver is the ultimate way to see nature's finest in absolute comfort and style. Choose your Great Barrier Reef cruise that departs daily from Port Douglas. Agincourt Reef Cruise - Situated on the very edge of the Great Barrier Reef, Agincourt Reef provides a sheltered anchorage for the Quicksilver vessel and the perfect spot for passengers to snorkel, dive, and view the coral formations and exotic marine life from the semi-submersible vessels. Here, our floating platform is like an island in a Coral Sea, our spacious and modern, dual level platform provides the ultimate in facilities for reef viewing and relaxation in all weather and wind conditions. You can also see the corals and watch the fish feeding from Quicksilver s unique viewing platform and underwater observatory located directly in front of the platform. From here, you can also view first time divers taking part in introductory dives. On the spacious decks, enjoy lunch in the undercover seating or in the air-conditioned comfort of the vessel. Designed to provide the best experience for both swimmers and non-swimmers to enjoy a day of discovery on the reef. The platform features include: undercover tables and seating; snorkelling platforms; semisubmersibles; an underwater observatory; introductory dive and snorkel pools; showers; and a licenced bar. For guests confined to a wheelchair, our specially designed water powered lift allows for easy access into the snorkel pool where they can swim directly off the lift's chair into the weightless environment of the reef to snorkel and explore at their own pace. Experience the fun of Helmet Diving - Oceanwalker or helmet diving is a unique and fun way to experience the underwater world of the reef up close and personal. Breathing fresh air delivered from the surface into your helmet, you will walk underwater on a reef platform. Oceanwalker is suitable for non-swimmers and persons aged over 12 years. After a short briefing and subject to medical conditions, you will be walking amongst the reef fish and corals. What s the best day or time to visit - We operate year-round, every day is a holiday! Generally, you will find the warm air and water temperatures in the tropics (see our average temperatures charts) make for comfortable conditions year-round for water activities. If you are visiting between the months of May to October, while certainly not guaranteed, there is the added bonus of potential whale sightings on the journey to and from the reef. Humpback whales regularly migrate from Antarctic waters every winter to the warmer waters of the Great Barrier Reef. They are most commonly sighted from June to September. The smaller Minke Whales can often be seen at Agincourt Reef from as early as April but from our experience, the most common sightings occur from June to July.
