THE MOMENT is finally here! Welcome to the UEC European Mountain Bike Championships which will be held at Cathkin Braes which occupies the highest point in the city area and provides a stunning backdrop for the mountain bike events. The trails, which regularly attract a multitude of thrill-seekers from across Scotland, were used during the Commonwealth Games in 2014 and competitors at Glasgow 2018 will be able to challenge themselves on new features, such as a brand new start and finish loop. 2

Before You Leave Home Be prepared Items such as bags in excess of 25 litres, commercial photography equipment, noise-making instruments, glass containers, bulk food, balls, inflatable items and alcoholic beverages are not allowed in any of our venues. There will also be some restrictions on items such as flags and poles, which can t be over 1mx2m, and large umbrellas. Venue Services Information point Located in the spectator plaza at the start/finish loop. Support available includes: Event and venue information Travel information Lost and found items Welfare point for lost and found persons Distribution of young visitor wristbands Young visitor wristbands We will be handing out young visitor wristbands for your little ones to wear in case they wander off during the excitement of the day! For more information ask a member of staff or visit the information point. Food and drink Payment at food and drink kiosks can be made by cash and card. Only non-alcoholic beverages are available for purchase. Lost and found items All found items can be collected from the information point. Following completion of activities, any unclaimed items will be transferred to Police Scotland. You can contact Police Scotland on 101 for further information. Merchandise Take home your own piece of the Championships! Official Glasgow 2018 merchandise is available from our outlet located in the spectator plaza on competition days. Check out our George Square megastore in Glasgow which operates from 18 June 17 August. 5
First aid Located in the spectator plaza at the start loop. Mobile first aiders are also available. Ask a member of staff for support. Water refill Located in the spectator plaza near the start/finish loop. Baby changing Located inside accessible toilets which are in the spectator plaza near the start/finish loop. Toilets Located in the spectator plaza near the start/finish loop and Propeller Point. ATMs There are no ATMs available at Cathkin Braes. All food, drink and merchandise units accept cash and card payment. Dog spending Located in the spectator plaza near the start/finish loop. Accessible services Cathkin Braes is an existing natural facility located in Glasgow s countryside with rough terrain. The majority of routes are not accessible for wheelchair users or spectators with limited mobility. Accessible toilets are located in the spectator plaza near the start/finish loop and Propeller Point. Quiet zone An autism aware quiet zone is available and is located in the spectator plaza near the start/finish loop. This space offers somewhere quiet and enclosed with support provided by specially trained volunteers from Autism Network Scotland and Glasgow Autism Resource Centre. Travel Information Cathkin Braes is well served by buses from Glasgow with a short walk to venue. To experience a positive journey we encourage you to follow the transport advice as shown. Bus Service numbers 5 and 75 operate from Glasgow city centre to Ardencraig Road and stop adjacent to the venue. Walking route Up to a three minute walk to Cathkin Braes from Ardencraig Road bus stop. See map for details. Spectator parking No public parking is permitted on Ardencraig Road, Cathkin Road or Castlemilk Drive. There is no parking available at Cathkin Braes. Free bus A Park and Ride service will operate from Hampden Park. A free shuttle will run between Hampden Park and Cathkin Braes as well as from Buchanan Bus Station to Cathkin Braes from 08:00 18:00.* Cycle parking Located near the main spectator plaza close to the start/finish loop. Subject to availability. Taxis No drop-off or pick-up is permitted on Ardencraig Road, Cathkin Road or Castlemilk Drive. *subject to demand. 7
