Camper & Parent Informational Packet Here is your complete packet of everything you will need to know about attending Camp 207. Please read everything, as there are certain documents that will need to be printed, filled out, and returned to Camp 207 with your child s application. These documents can be mailed, or scanned and emailed to us. We hope this packet answers your questions, but if you have any other questions or concerns, please email us at info@maineeventministries.org. Thanks! 1. Health Form a. ME Health Law requires documentation of immunizations. Please complete the health form carefully and submit it along with your child s application. b. If your child is taking any medication at the time camp begins, please have it ready to turn in to our nurses at the check-in station along with clearly written instructions for the nurse. This includes any over-the-counter medications along with any vitamins. c. All medication and over-the-counter medications must come in its original container. No meds in weekly pill containers will be accepted. No medication is allowed to be kept by the camper or counselor in the cabin. d. We will not accept your camper for the week if this form is not completely filled out. e. Epi-Pens/Inhalers: Any campers requiring the use of emergency Epi-Pens/Inhalers while at camp must have the appropriate authorization form completed in full, dated and signed by a parent/guardian and physician. We require that you send an additional Epi-Pen/Inhaler to be kept as a backup in the Health Center. 2. Waiver Form a. Both Parents and Campers must sign the Waiver Form 3. Contacting Your Camper a. Mail a letter/send a package the day before your child goes to camp. Your camper will most likely receive it on their second or third day at Camp 207 (Include camper s first and last name along with their Cabin Name on the outside of the letter/package). Address your mail to: Child s Name, Camp 207, 317 Echo Lake Road, Fayette, Maine 04349. b. You can email your child by going to our website. (www.maineeventministries.org) At the very top of the page, you will see a link called camperinbox@maineeventministries.org. The emails are printed each morning and will be given to your camper at lunch.

c. Email and snail mail are the only ways to contact your camper. Campers may not use the office phone, cell phones, email, or internet at any time at camp. It may be helpful to include a self-addressed stamped envelope for your camper so it would be quick and easy for them to send you news from camp. Please make sure to take their cell phone home with you. Any phones with campers will be confiscated until Saturday s departure. If there is a family emergency, please call the office and our staff can help you decide the best way to handle the situation. If there is an emergency at camp involving your child, we will call you immediately. 4. Activities Offered Waterfront: swimming, tubing, kayaking, canoeing, blobbing and a host of other water related activities. Archery Ropes Course Giant Swing Ga-Ga Ball Basketball Soccer Tennis Baseball/Softball Kickball/Dodgeball Outdoor Volleyball Crafts and Ceramics 5. Prayer Most importantly, pray with your camper before camp starts. Pray about any fears or concerns about attending camp, as well as for friends they might be inviting, the camp staff and for how God will work in their life at Camp 207. Pray also for your camper while he/she is away at camp. Pray for safety, and health so they will not miss out on anything; for their friends to be a positive impact, and for their counselor and other camp staff. We appreciate the prayer and notice when we are prayed for! 6. Arrival Information Check-in begins at 2 pm and goes until 4:30 pm on Sunday. As you drive into camp, you will be greeted by staff who will instruct you on what to do. We will begin contacting campers who have not arrived after 4:30. Check-in process at the Registration Gazebo: health form verification, medication drop-off, final registration payments and snack shack money will be accepted. We can accept cash and checks made payable to Camp 207 for any remaining camper registration balance. Your child s cabin assignment will be provided at check-in.

Our trained staff will carefully check all campers for head lice upon their arrival at Camp. Please partner with us by checking your child or having your child checked for lice by a professional before they leave for Camp. If lice are found during the head-check process, the camper will have to return home for treatment. Find your camper s cabin and meet their counselor These checkpoints must be done before your camper settles in permanently. Your camper can do their swim testing at the waterfront until 5:00 pm. 7. Departure Information Departure time is Saturday, August 20th promptly at 10:00 a.m. Before you leave with your child: Please check the lost and found items for missing belongings. Retrieve your child s medication (if your child brought medication). You will find the nurse at the gazebo where you checked in your child. Make sure you have all the luggage and laundry they came with. 8. Clothing Policy Camp is coming up fast and we re so excited your child has decided to join us for our awesome program this year. It s going to be an amazing and memorable time! As we are preparing for campers arrival, there are a few guidelines we wish to suggest as the bags are packed. As a Christian camp, a goal of ours is to allow campers to get to know each other in a wholesome atmosphere where the importance of external appearances is minimized. Therefore, we have set in place certain values as an organization; for instance, a sense of modesty in our attire. This is something we ask our campers and staff to maintain as well. In order to aid us in the support of these goals for the benefit of our campers, we would appreciate your help in assisting your child as he/she is packing. We understand in today s changing fashion world it may be difficult to determine what type of clothing is suitable while he/ she is with us for the week, which is why we ve set forth some guidelines, and are listed below. 9. Clothing Guidelines For girls, one-piece bathing suits are appropriate (tankinis are acceptable as long as there is a definite overlap in layers). White bathing suits are not allowed on either gender. A dark colored t-shirt will be asked to be worn over inappropriate bathing suits. For guys, shorts type swimsuits (please, no Speedo type suits). Tank tops with a wide shoulder width are appropriate (at least 1 1 2 inches, please leave spaghetti strap tank tops and halter tops at home). Shirts should be full-length (if any type of arm motion causes a show of midriff, it s too short).

Shorts should have at least a 4-inch inseam with no holes in them. No mini-skirts. What is considered a mini-skirt is up to the judgment of the administration. Pants should be worn high enough to avoid any show of underwear above the waistband. Shoes or sandals must be worn at all times except at the waterfront. Sneakers must be worn for all games. We hope this will help as your prepare your son or daughter for his/her experience at camp. We are looking forward to a great week! 10.
