Tuesday 29 August We meet at the airport at 5.00 pm for our Turkish Airlines flight departing to Istanbul at 6.55 pm. We are expected to arrive at 10.15 pm and assigned a hotel near the airport. Wednesday 30 August Our Turkish Airlines flight is expected to leave Istanbul at 1.05 pm for San Francisco. Upon arrival, at around 4.25 pm local time, a private coach will transfer us to our hotel - Holiday Inn Fisherman s Wharf. Rooms will be assigned and a familiarisation walk will follow. Thursday 31 August Alcatraz Island The tour s first excursion will take us to Alcatraz Island known otherwise as The Rock. We need to catch a ferry to get to the island (included). Once home to some of America s most notorious criminals, the federal penitentiary that operated here from 1934 to 1963 brought a dark mystique to the Rock. The presence of infamous inmates like Al Scarface Capone and the Birdman Robert Stroud, helped to establish the island s notoriety. To this day, Alcatraz is best known as one of the world s most legendary prisons. Free time in the afternoon. Friday 1 September San Francisco city tour San Francisco is a little bit home to everything and today s full day guided excursion will take us to see the most popular points of interest. Amongst others, these will include the Golden Gate Bridge San Francisco s signature landmark, Nob Hill - once the home of the city s business tycoons, China Town the largest Chinese community outside Asia, the Financial District - home to the city s largest concentration of corporate headquarters, law firms, insurance companies, real estate firms, banks, savings and loans, and other financial institutions, North Beach, Union Square the central shopping and theatre district and Twin Peaks the highest point in the city. We will also make a stop in one of the most enchanting and visited cities in the San Francisco Bay Area Sausalito.
Saturday 2 September Monterey Carmel 17-Mile Drive Today we will drive down one of the most scenic roads in California on this full-day guided tour from San Francisco. We will cruise along the coast-hugging highway to the beautiful Monterey Peninsula, home to the famous Monterey Bay Aquarium and Steinbeck s Cannery Row and along the famous 17-Mile Drive, home to the world-renowned Pebble Beach Golf Course and magnificent mansions. From here we will then proceed to Carmel-by-the-Sea, a charming downtown shopping district with beautiful beaches. Sunday 3 September Today our private coach will transfer us to the airport for our domestic flight to Las Vegas. Upon arrival there will be a coach waiting for us that will take us to our hotel located on the Las Vegas Strip Hotel Excalibur. Monday 4, Tuesday 5, Wednesday 6, Thursday 7 September Las Vegas is famed for its buzzing energy, 24-hour casinos and endless entertainment options. Its focal point is the Strip, just over 4 miles long and lined with elaborate themed hotels such as the pyramid-shaped Luxor and the Venetian, complete with Grand Canal and the Bellagio, set behind iconic dancing fountains. With so much to do and see, the days in Vegas will be left free. From zip lines and car racing to the Bellagio s world-famous fountains, experiencing all of Las Vegas attractions is like riding a roller coaster, which you can do because Las Vegas has these too. In addition to the casinos and shows, there are zoos, theatres, aquariums and galleries and even these are ever changing. And no two Las Vegas attractions are alike. The Mob Museum offers a glimpse into Vegas illustrious and notorious past, while the Dolphin Habitat at The Mirage offers a glimpse into the undersea world, far away from the desert landscape (entrance fees not included). Las Vegas Night Flight On Monday September 4 we will enjoy the Entertainment Capital of the World from the best view possible THE SKY! Vegas Nights is an amazing helicopter tour flying over the mega resorts on the Las Vegas Strip, from the New York-New York skyline to the Bellagio fountains and the never-fading light of the Luxor Pyramid. We will be afforded unparalleled views of Downtown Las Vegas and the historic Fremont Street, home to the city s first casinos (duration will be of around 12-15 minutes). Grand Canyon Explorer Tour This will take place on Thursday September 7. This ultimate excursion begins with a 40-minute flight to the Grand Canyon s South Rim. This journey will then continue, by a coach transfer to the Grand Canyon National Park to enjoy the awe-inspiring vistas, panoramic overlooks and trails that can only be accessed from inside the park.
Friday 8 September Morning transfer from Las Vegas to Anaheim in Los Angeles with a stop in Barstow for lunch. In Anaheim we will be staying at the Spring Hill Suites By Marriott. Saturday 9 September Los Angeles city tour Breakfast. Today s full day excursion will take us around Los Angeles. Los Angeles is a sprawling Southern California city famed as the center of the nation s film and television industry. We will drive through Olvera Street, Sunset Boulevard, Rodeo Drive and Santa Monica. We will see the Hollywood sign, Beverly Hills, TCL Chinese Theatre with its display of celebrities hand and footprints and the Hollywood Walk of Fame with more than 2,500 five-pointed terrazzo and brass stars embedded in the sidewalks along 15 blocks of Hollywood Boulevard. Sunday 10 September Free Day. Breakfast. We suggest a visit to the nearby (0.5 miles) Disneyland Park. A shuttle to the park is available, from the hotel, for a nominal fee. Park tickets can also be purchased from the hotel. Monday 11 September Universal Studios Breakfast. Get ready for the ultimate Hollywood experience! A full day of action-packed entertainment all in one place: thrilling rides and shows, a real working movie studio and Los Angeles best shops, restaurants and cinemas at CityWalk. Universal Studios Hollywood is a unique experience that is fun for the whole family. Entrance to Universal Studios is included. Tuesday 12 September Breakfast. Our flight from Los Angeles to Istanbul will depart at 6.30 pm. Wednesday 13 September We are expected to land in Istanbul at 5.30 pm and a hotel will be assigned upon arrival. Thursday 14 September Our flight back to Malta departs at 08.20 am and we are expected back at around 0950 am.
