Ngorongoro Day 2 At dawn you will descend into one of the natural seven wonders of Africa; The Ngorogoro Crater. This large volcanic caldera is home to over 25,000 animals and has one of the densest known populations of lions. Its also your best chance of seeing the elusive hook lipped (black) rhinoceros. Due to the soft feed of the Gorigor Swamp and the Lerai forest, big bull elephants come here to die. This is truly the land of the giants! Spend the morning tracking big game before heading southwest to the action packed short grass plains of Ndutu. On route you will stop at a Maasai village and spend time with this nomadic tribe who inhabit the African plains. Experience how they live in the wilderness and get to know their culture and customs. Take the scenic route through the valley dotted with wildebeest and zebra and head to our Africa Under Canvas Camp in Ndutu! This is where the wild things are! Unique Photography Opportunity: Photograph a big African bull elephant. If you are lucky, you might be able to locate one. The local Maasai tribes make beautiful portraits. AUC Ndutu Camp Day 2, 3, 4, 5 Feb 3,4,5 2016 Welcome to the wild! The next four days are going to be exhilarating as you set up camp in the heart of the wildebeest migration. Ndutu is famous for the calving season that takes place every February. This is when the wildebeest give birth and in the African plains, life is never too far away from death. The gathering and fresh offspring attract a number of predators, offering you a fabulous chance to witness hunts! Explore the marshlands for lions, woodlands for leopards and savannahs for the famous cheetah brothers. The next few days are going to be explosive so buckle up! Unique Photography Opportunity: The gathering of wildebeest might gift you with the opportunity of witnessing a kill, whether it is Lion, Leopard or Cheetah. Equipment: Although prime lenses are strongly recommended, a good zoom lens is a must as off roading and vehicle positioning might bring you very close to big game. We recommend a 70-200 F2.8
Seronera Day 6 After an early morning game drive and breakfast at Ndutu Camp, you will depart for Central Serengeti. On route to your Lodge you will do a game drive through the park and check in for Lunch. After your meal you will head out for your afternoon and evening game drive in search of big game, and one elusive creature in particular; the African Leopard. This area is rich with wildlife and supports prolific resident big game density and is known for its thriving Leopard population. Unique Photography Opportunity: Leopards, ascending and descending from large Acasia Trees. Equipment: A large zoom lens preferably a 600mm.
