A great pot luck dinner was enjoyed by all. Flag Salute was led by Debby Leuer. Roll Call taken by Gary Parkin. 19 Members, 2 Qualifying, Guests 2 Minutes of previous meeting read by Linda Torrey and accepted with no corrections. Treasurers report was read by Jerry Torrey see newsletter for details. Bills to be paid: $20 to Linda Torrey for costs in filing our corporation information with State of California Delegate/Conservation Report: None Old Business: Cleghorn Cleanup: Has been scheduled for September 24, 2016 meet at the trailhead at 9AM. June Run: Dan Calva reporting. Rattlesnake Canyon run was on June 18. Members met and had breakfast prior to meeting on the trial head and left at 9:15. It was a milk run, they saw some long horn prairie cattle on the trail. Some of the group went Pioneer town and others went to the top of the trail and stayed over in Big Bear. Fun time had by all. Good turnout Jo Bricker will need to turn in the list of attending members so they can get credit for the run. July Run: Arnold Taffoya, Daryl Romano, Bob Bissell and Shelby Craighead trail bosses. Will be July 23 rd a 1 day run to Big Bear. Meet at 9AM at the Discovery Center by Fawnskin. 4 th of July Parade 6 jeeps represented us in the very well attended La Verne parade. We met for breakfast before the parade. The parade route was an hour long and we followed the La Verne Brewing entry, admittedly a great placement for Drifters. Lunch followed at Warehouse Pizza. Page 2 Minutes Continued Old Business (cont): August President s Picnic will be the weekend of the 12-14 of August, in Ramona. Mark and Suzanne will emailed out the details. So far we only have 12 units registered and need you to contact Mark as soon as possible to confirm your attendance. This is our only fundraiser of the year so it s important that it be well attended. Raffle prizes are needed. If you have something to donate or can make calls to obtain them please let Mark know. $400 dollars from the party fund have been earmarked to purchase prizes IF we have enough attendees to make a profit. Linda Torrey volunteered to do the purchasing when that determination is made. Everyone needs to bring tables and chairs to the event. Corn Pots and BBQ are needed. The August meeting will be held at the event at 11AM on Saturday morning. Because our funds are so exceedingly low, tickets will be given to members only for grilled steaks on Saturday morning at the meeting. Tickets can be purchased for guests at $10 per attendee from Jerry Torrey. All uncooked steaks will be sold after the event for actual cost. Your early RSVP will enable us to order just the number of steaks that will be consumed by both members and guests. Smith and their son Braden. Branden s twin Chase needs a new heart and the family has been adopted by the Drifters in support of this. Their family has been part of the Drifter family for four generations, and we need to close ranks and support our own. We will be accepting donations at all meetings and parties. Cathy Smith also has some of the Chase Strong bracelets for $5 and many members are wearing them. There is also a fundraiser at the Chino Airport July 23 at 6PM midnight. Tickets are $25 and include food/beer/airplanes and cars. Please participate if you can we can help save a life here! We are out of plaques and the vinyl replacements have proven to shrink when mounted permanently due to the sun. Charles will be donating 12 magnetic replacements that can be removed when not being used or the car is exposed to sunlight. The original style metal and paint plaques are $60-80 to replace, so they can only be ordered if 10 people agree to buy them at this price (to cover set up, etc.). The 50/50 of $57.00 was won by Jerry Torrey. Meeting adjourned at 8:30 PM by Vince Reusch. Next Meeting August 13 at 11 AM at Ramona RV Park. September run: Monache Meadows in the Owens Valley Sept 9-11 after Labor Day. Trail Bosses are Don Rybarczyk, David Meyer, Tommy Vaughn and Rick Buckley Sr. Located at 395 past Ridgecrest. There is camping but no RV access. October Run: Vince Ruesch, Norm Gerwien, Dennice Weddell and Rick Buckley Jr. is the October 21 weekend and will be ta the Salton Sea RV resort. This is a rock trip not a sand trip. November Run: Robert Smith confirmed this will be to Mammoth Wash over Thanksgiving. December Run: Gary Parkin asked about Ballarat. Secretary, Linda Torrey New Business: Voting on the by-law changes: Linda Torrey will be emailing out the new ballots tomorrow. Please either email or snailmail to us so that they can be counted at 10AM at the Past President s Picnic and result announced at the 11 AM Meeting. Please do not hit Reply All when voting. Our next meeting will be held at the Past President s Picnic at 11 AM. Location at the RV Park to be announced later. Vince introduced our guests Taylor Buckley and Cameron
