NEW RULES FOR 2018, PLEASE READ GENERAL RULES AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 1. Mandatory curfew all campers must be in their cabin at the time designated each night (typically 11 pm). No one is allowed to leave their cabin after 11 pm without express permission from their camp counselor. VIOLATING THIS RULE MAY RESULT IN A CALL FOR PARENT TO PICK YOU UP, IN OTHER WORDS, EXPULSION FROM CAMP. 2. All campers must be done with showering by 11:30 pm. No showers to be started after 11:15 pm. This is to respect your fellow campers who desire to sleep, as well as your camp counselor. 3. Your camp counselor will review your attire prior to leaving your cabin for breakfast, to make sure you are adhering to the camp dress code. You may be asked to change before leaving your cabin for breakfast. Parents, if your child violates the curfew rules, specifically by leaving the cabin after the established curfew (typically 11 pm), you will have to make arrangements to have your child picked up from camp. Travel: For those traveling by plane, bus, or train, it is recommended that you arrive Sunday around noon, August 5 th and plan to leave late afternoon on Friday, August 10 th. If that is not possible, please email the Camp Director as limited housing is available with local fellowships if you need to arrive prior to August 5 th and/or leave after August 10 th. If this is the case, you must arrive before the weekly Sabbath and plan on leaving after Shabbat. Cancellation Policy: Your registration form and permission forms, along with a $25.00 non-refundable deposit, are due no later than June 1, 2018 When we receive your registration with deposit, you will receive a confirmation e-mail at the e-mail address you provide. The remaining balance of $300.00 is due by August 1, 2018 Space is limited! To guarantee your spot in the camp, you must pay a minimum of $150.00 toward your registration by June 1, 2018, otherwise, you may be bumped by those on the wait list. For now, here is a list to start with: Bible/pen/notebook Bedding: sleeping bag, pillow, and extra blanket (optional) Clothing: t-shirts, light jacket, jeans or sturdy pants, shorts, tennis shoes, socks, underwear, swimsuit, pajamas, flip-flops for shower (optional) (Make sure you review the dress code.) Toiletries: toothbrush/paste, soap, shampoo/conditioner, deodorant, and any other items needed Other: towels (1 for shower, 1 for swimming), money for snacks, insect repellent, sunscreen Cell phones: Cell phone service is limited at Mile High Pines, while cell phones are permitted; campers will only have allotted times to call family/friends. We will make these times known. We do not want campers to be receiving calls during services, sport activities, etc. A schedule of activities will be made known to parents either through this website, FaceBook, or when campers are dropped off. Lost or stolen belongings: Mile High Pines Camp/Messiah West Coast cannot be responsible for lost or stolen belongings. It is important that you mark your name on all personal items.
Dress Code: Messiah West Coast will implement a conservative dress code for both boys and girls. Modesty will prevail in all clothing matters. Likewise, any questionable slogans or graphics on clothing will not be allowed. It will be the judgment of any adult staff member to determine what is inappropriate. A thorough dress code will be made available prior to camp. For now, here are some general guidelines: Camp Dresscode for Girls: Swimsuits: One-piece swimsuits, with board shorts and a dark colored t-shirt over it. No cleavage, midriff, or rear end should show. If it s questionable before you get in the water, it will most likely be inappropriate when you get wet and start moving around in the water. Shorts: Shorts should be mid thigh or longer. Also, consider how they fit, too. Not too tight, but not too baggy either. Keep in mind, during games and such, you ll be moving around, bending over, possibly sitting Indian style, so choose shorts that will keep you covered. Also, no biking shorts. Shirts: No strapless, spaghetti straps, or backless (even with camisole underneath as we ve allowed before). No bra straps, cleavage or midriff should be showing at any time. It is very helpful is shirts can be long that go below the waste, tank tops should be used an undergarments Dresses/skirts: No strapless, spaghetti straps, or backless. Length should be knee length or longer (even with leggings on). Also, no tight or form fitting clothing. Pants: No tight pants, no spandex pants, no Camp Dresscode for Guys: Wear appropriate swim trunks and t-shirt. No speedos or cutoffs. No droopy, baggy pants.no undergarments should be showing. Wear shirts that cover your torso completely no midriffs showing. If you wear a tank top, please wear a tank top that is not too loose and doesn t reveal sides of you mid section or chest (i.e. no tank tops with very large arm holes). No short shorts. Also, consider how they fit. Not too tight, nor too baggy. Keep in mind that while playing games and such, you ll be moving around, bending over, possibly sitting Indian style, etc., so choose shorts that will keep you covered. No biking shorts allowed. As we all may have differing opinions about what is modest, please don t be offended if you are asked to change or cover up more below are examples of what and what not to wear.
