~~E 163 I~ 0 20'U NORTH SOMERSET COUNCIL (SOUTH BRISTOL LINK) COMPULSORY PURCHASE ORDER (NO. 2) 2014 THE HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 AND THE ACQUISITION OF LAND ACT 1981 The North Somerset District Council (known as North Somerset Council) in this order called "the acquiring authority" acting under an agreement with the City Council pursuant to Section 8 of the Highways Act 1980 hereby makes the following order: 1 Subject to the provisions of this order the acquiring authority is, under sections 239, 240, 246, 249 and 250 of the Highways Act 1980, hereby authorised to purchase compulsorily the land and new rights over land described in paragraph 2. 2 The land and new rights authorised to be purchased compulsorily under this order are: (a) For the purpose of: (i) the construction and improvement of a highway between the A370 in the Unitary Authority of North Somerset Council and Cater Road roundabout in the Unitary Authority of City Council; and (ii) mitigating the adverse effect which the existence or use of the highway proposed to be constructed or improved will have on the surroundings thereof; the land which is described in the Schedule hereto and is delineated and shown coloured pink on the map hereinafter mentioned and the rights which are specified in the said Schedule over the land which is described therein and is delineated and shown coloured blue on the said map. 3 The map aforesaid is a map consisting of one (1) sheet with reference J:\13-14\CGD13_ 42 South Link\Supplementary CPO, prepared in duplicate, sealed with the Common Seal of the acquiring authority and marked "The North Somerset Council (South Link) Compulsory Purchase Order (No. 2) 2014". One duplicate of the map is deposited in the offices of the acquiring authority and the other is deposited in the offices of the Secretary of State for Transport.
