fusion 2018 DEAR CAMPERS AND PARENTS/GUARDIANS, Camp is rapidly approaching and we are excited that you chose TASE (The Alliance Southeast) Camps at Lake Swan to serve your camper this summer! We have been bathing this summers campers and program in prayer. Staff are coming together, plans are being set and now we are ready for a camp week filled with fun and fellowship. Now, a few things you need to know before you get here! Our theme this year is Fusion, in which we are focusing on look in (Your Story) from the Gospel Footprint. This means understanding that God has masterfully designed us to use our talents and strengths for His Kingdom and His glory. We are so excited to have David Lane (Edgewater Alliance) to help guide us in this experience! Please make sure to go through ALL the information included with the welcome letter. The better prepared you are for camp, the better we can make the experience for you! When you arrive at camp be prepared to have - A completed medical card - Signed dress code/policy form - A huge appetite for FUN - And maybe some clothes and other stuff We ll include that on another page ;) We are SO excited to grow alongside your camper in self-discovery as we explore what the Lord has in-store and how He continues to shape and mold us for His service. What to bring to Camp 2k17: Linens: 2 Bath Towels 2 Beach Towels Washcloths Laundry Bag Plastic Bags (Wet Stuff) Blanket Twin Sheets XL long work best/ sleeping bags are fine to use on bunks, too Pillow Over the door hooks for bunk to hang towels, bags, etc. Over the door shoe organizers with hooks work great, too. (Dollar Store has them.) Toiletries: Shampoo / Condition Deodorant Soap/Shower Gel Razor Toothpaste/Toothbrush/Floss Hairbrush/comb Ponytail holders Feminine Products Sunscreen Bug spray Clothes: Shorts (lots of them!) T-shirts/Tank Tops (please send plenty of clothes - and be sure to put old ones that can get messy). 1 pair jeans Bathing Suits (If two piece, must be modest or wear t-shirt over it no skimpy suits) Flip Flops/Athletic Shoes Black out clothes for night game (capture the flag or mission impossible) Other Important Stuff: Paper Bible/Notebook/Pens Medicine (Give to camp nurse at check in) $ for camp store and snack shack Water bottle Flashlight Electronics: Campers are welcome to bring their cameras, phones, ipods, etc. However, we cannot be responsible for them if they are lost, damaged or stolen. Phones should remain in their rooms during games, tracks and chapel. Only use personal electronics when you are given permission by your counselor. DRESS CODE & DISCIPLINE POLICY For Campers and Their Parents/Guardians We want every camper to experience all that God has for them this week. Therefore, campers will be expected to 1. Engage fully with the planned activities. Engage fully with the planned activities. Stay with your group unless you have been excused by your counselor, and always stay on the campgrounds within the sight of the other campers. Bring your Bible to the main sessions, and anticipate that God will speak to you. This week is to unplug, so please don t bring any electronics except, perhaps, your cell phone to be used when your counselor gives permission for music*, personal photos and videos, and your bible app. Watching streamed or downloaded movies/tv/video content at camp is not allowed. 2. Be considerate of others and the camp. You don t want to tempt others unnecessarily, so follow the guidelines for storing personal money and valuables, and dress modestly. We will have to ask you to change any clothes that are too short, revealing, or suggestive, or have logos that are inappropriate. Clean up after yourself in the cabins and bath houses, and help out when asked in cleaning up the cabins and nearby grounds. Even when playing, try not to hurt others or damage property. Bullying will not be tolerated. 3. Refrain from behaviors considered unhealthy or dangerous. Tobacco, alcohol, drugs and medications (not given to the nurse to dispense) are forbidden. Knives, fireworks, or other items that can obviously hurt people should not be brought on campus. Once you have arrived, you are not to operate a motorized vehicle on the campground. Only enter the lake or use the water equipment under camp supervision. Report any accident, illness, or concern to your counselor. They are there to help you, and they can send you to the nurse or camp leadership. In order to ensure a camp environment that is safe and allows each camper the best experience possible, all campers are expected to abide by these guidelines. Camp staff will address issues in an encouraging and instructive way, and corporal punishment will never be used. If a camper is not complying with these policies, they ll receive a verbal warning. Subsequent failure to comply will result in loss of privileges. Ongoing challenge to authority will result in the intervention of the camp director, who may then include the camper s youth leader and/or parent/guardian in finding a resolution. Rock Solid Camps reserves the right to send campers home, at their own expense, if they are unable to comply with the camp policies and submit to the authority of camp staff in a responsive way.
