Day 1 Sydney and Blue Mountains Depart Sydney in the afternoon and start a true journey of contrasts that will take you through the heights of the majestic Blue Mountains and across the barren expanse of the Nullarbor Plain, to lush vineyards and vast goldmines, and from cities of 4 million to ghost towns of just four citizens. Named for the two oceans the train encounters on its journey, the Indian Pacific travels between Perth and Sydney, via Adelaide, in a spectacular 4352km journey. Get acquainted with staff and your cabin, and settle in for the journey. As you venture beyond the city limits, settle back, open a book or switch on your onboard radio upon approach to the spectacular Blue Mountains. If you d rather be social, make your way to the Outback Explorer Lounge to meet fellow guests and help yourself to a welcome drink. As the train continues to navigate the heights of the ranges, it s time to wet your appetite with one of the Indian Pacific s signature dining experiences. Perhaps sample the grilled swordfish or the tender lamb shoulder slow-cooked in Kangaroo Island honey and black vinegar? Just make sure you leave room for your dessert which could be the apple and wild rosella flower strudel or a regional cheese plate comprising Hunter Belle blue, Alexandrina cheddar and Margaret River brie. After a sumptuous dinner, join your fellow guests for a few late-night drinks or head to your cabin to settle in early and await the sights of your first incredible outback sunrise the next day. 05.10.17 Day 2 Broken Hill and Adelaide Wake up with a coffee as you arrive in Broken Hill, a classic mining town where the streets are wide and there is a pub on every corner. On your Off Train Excursion, explore the beauty of this Silver City and discover the history of mining that makes the town what it is today and the artistic culture that also abounds in the

area. Visit the Pro Hart Gallery, where you can learn all about one of Australia's most iconic and enduring artists, whose art captures the spirit of the outback. Stepping back onboard, head straight to Queen Adelaide Restaurant for breakfast. An extensive menu caters to all tastes. Take your time enjoying breakfast as you have a full day onboard to yourself. By the time lunch is served, you ll already be well into South Australia on the southern tip of the Flinders Ranges. What better way to celebrate than digging into a beautifully prepared South Eastern Australian beef medallion, served with dauphinoise potato, broccolini onion jam and red wine jus? In no time, you'll notice a dramatic change in landscape as the outback makes way for the green and golden fields of South Australia s food bowl. Your choice for the afternoon and evening is the picturesque city of Adelaide or the historic Barossa Valley. For guests choosing Adelaide, a leisurely walking tour allows you to discover hidden secrets along the cultural boulevard of North Terrace and stroll through the Botanic Gardens to your dinner venue for the evening, the National Wine Centre. Here, you will indulge in a specially-tailored food and wine experience in this stunning venue before returning to the train. Alternatively, explore the Barossa Valley s boutique wineries and learn about the wine making process. You will then be transferred back to Adelaide, ready to continue your journey to Perth. After socialising in the Outback Explorer Lounge, head back to your room where you'll find your bed turned down and a nightcap waiting on the bedside table. For your next epic 24 hours, you ll embark on the longest leg of the journey across the Nullarbor Plain. 06.10.17 Day 3 - The Nullarbor Wake up and marvel at the raw beauty of the Nullarbor. Taking its name from the Latin meaning no trees, the ancient Nullarbor conjures the sense of limitless space and time. Take some time to reflect on the changing landscapes in your journey and to enjoy the hospitality of the Outback Explorer Lounge as you travel across Australia s longest single stretch of railway. Your sense of wonder will be well and truly ignited when it comes time to set foot at Rawlinna that evening. Under brilliant desert stars, enjoy an evening stop to partake in a traditional Outback lamb roast dinner under the wide Nullarbor skies. 07.10.17 Day 4 - Perth The Avon Valley beckons you this morning the mild skies and cool green vales of this picturesque part of the world will truly delight.
