Transport for London New Cross Gate Depot tour joining instructions. Paul Edwards, Fleet Manager. 24 th May 2016.
Welcome to London Overground: I would like to welcome you all to New Cross Gate Depot, the home maintenance facility for all 57 Bombardier 5-car Class 378 Units. Since the launch of the first 3-car Class 378 unit on July 13 th 2009, the fleet and depot have developed into a first class establishment, with all of our partners working collaboratively together to bring a world class railway operation to our passengers in an ever evolving and challenging environment. With the recent expansion of the Class 378 fleet from 4 to 5 cars has brought its own opportunities, with new vehicles, conversion of the fleet, stabling facilities and extended depots being brought into use whilst still maintaining, and operating within a live environment. As part of the tour, my team will explain the complexities involved, and how we delivered the project 12 months ahead of schedule, increasing capacity across the London Overground network by 25% Please enjoy the visit, and we will always endeavour to answer all questions posed to the best of our ability. We would respectfully request however that you read the following information sheets, and whilst on site at New Cross Gate Depot you ensure you stay with the tour party and adhere to the requests of my team should you be requested to take action to remain safe at all times. We hope you enjoy your visit. Paul Edwards, Fleet Manager, London Overground
