On Friday 27 th November Mrs Holland, Mrs Wells, Jo-anne Sherwood, Samantha Brennan, Alyssa Spinks, Lucy Dunn, Casey Neal, Faith Elliott, Lewis Kranitis, Abbey-May Lytinski, Chloe O'Neill, Leah Elliott, Jake Wells, Towa Henry, Xanthe Cassidy and Tayla Walsh travelled to Sydney to support our Choir. The Hastings Secondary College Port Campus School choir was made up of our talented teachers Ms Farmer and Mr Heddles as well as our students Brianna Abel, Shannon Beck, Ashley Carrick, Grace Doblo, Liam Eastwell, Christian Familar, Layla Forbers, Elijah Hargraves, Zara Hellman, Alaina Menzies Camilla Moen, Leah Wattus and Miriam Woof. The show was explosive, literally, with pyrotechnics, hundreds of lights and sound that did not disappoint. It showed the best of public school education in the Creative Arts in a jammed packed three and half hour show. Our choir performed beautifully, but was especially outstanding during a tribute to our Anzac s in a Lee Kernigan song where they swayed with poppy s in their hands looking amazing and sounding harmonic as they weaved through the audience. The theme for School Spectacular this year was THIS IS OUR WORLD, it captured the dreams and hopes of young people through the medium of music and dance. As the leaders of tomorrow, our students showcased their place in the world by celebrating diverse cultures in exciting performances where costuming was a real highlight. Blake O Connor sung the iconic anthem Supernova, a song co-written by Blake and a group of extremely talented men and women his age. Riley Dure s sung a number of times throughout the show but was very memorable in a medley that paid tribute to songs from musicals that have delighted us in our world. Her voice was a standout in the song from The Sound Of Music Do-Re-Mi. Ms Farmer, Mr Heddles, Mrs Wells and Mrs Holland Page 2 of 8
