A dream tour where we will visit the Lake Iseo, the Cinque Terre, Tuscany, Umbria, Narni, Pompeii, the Amalfi coast, Matera, Alberobello, les Puglia, Calabria, Sicily, the Etna volcano, Taormina, Palermo. Here is a summary of the tour Megaride in Sicily. We start from the Lake Iseo, then direction to the Cinque Terre then to the medieval city of Narni, inspiration for the movies the Chronicles of Narnia and then if we want, Pisa, for a gelato and maybe have a look at the leaning tower, then Tuscany and Umbria. We keep riding south, direction the Amalfi coast and maybe, for those who want, a visit to Pompeii. From the Amalfi coast, we cross Italy to get to Alberobello, the Smurf city. We will stay two days in Puglia then head for Calabria and cross the strait of Messina by ferry to Sicily. We will stay in Sicily for four days, giving us enough time to visit some of the wonders of Sicily, like the Etna, the ancient temples, the cities, or ride the roads along the coast. Later that week, we will board a ferry to Genoa, spend a night in Arenzano and return to Vitrolles. All of our motorcycles are equipped with a preprogrammed GPS, having all the daily itineraries. Every morning your Megavoyages guide will give you instructions and accompany you during this adventure. If you prefer to ride alone, not follow the group, you can. You can decide to ride solo. We will provide the GPS routes, advises and instructions. At the end of the day, all Megariders will meet at the hotel to share their stories around a few beverages and a great meal.

Itinerary day by day Megaride in Sicily Here is the day by day route summary for the Megaride in Sicily. Please note that this represents only a preview of what the itinerary will be as it may change. Your Megavoyages guide may change the routes depending on the weather, traffic, your preferences, how the group feels and many other good reasons. On relax days, you may chose between different itineraries. Day 0 Friday Montreal - Venice Departure with Air Transat from Montreal Trudeau airport around 20:10 and arrival at Venice Marco Polo airport 10:00 local time Overnight flight with meals included. Day 1 Saturday Venice, shuttle to Lake Iseo You will be met on arrival at the Venice Marco Polo airport, where you will board a shuttle to your hotel and take possession of your motorcycle. Stage 1 (optional): How about a stroll in the area for a nice gelato? We stay at the hotel and diner will be served at a restaurant nearby.
Day 2 Sunday Lake Iseo, Trebbia valley, Five lands, Lerici breakfast in our hotel Lake Iseo Stage 2: Leaving in the direction of the Cinque-Terre. We first ride through Val Trebbia, according to Ernest Hemingway, this is the most beautiful valley in the world. The rode is just curves, twisties and more twisties or as the Italian say, Tornenti. We then cross Genova by its autostradas and hundreds of tunnels to finally get to the Cinque-Terre region. Our final destination for the day being Lerici. Night stay and diner at our hotel. Day 3 Monday Cinque-Terre, Liguria, Narni, Umbria Breakfast buffet at our hotel in Lerici Stage 3: We ride the roads of Tuscany to get to Narni. The city is an old magnificent medieval fortified city. Narni or Narnia as it used to be known was established in 299 BC and became a municipium in 90 BC. Night stay and diner at our hotel in Narni, Umbria.
Day 4 Tuesday - Narnia, Umbria, Amalfi Coast, Pompeii Breakfast, buffet at our hotel in Narni, Umbria. Stage 4: Today, we ride south, direction the Amalfi Coast. Open your eyes, this road is spectacular, right on the edge between the cliffs and the Mediterranean sea. Night stay at our hotel and diner in a restaurant, on the Amalfi coast, Campania. Day 5 Wednesday - Amalfi Coast, Alberobello, Matera, Puglia Breakfast, buffet at our hotel on the Amalfi Coast, Campania. Stage 5: We cross Italy, to get to Alberobello, Puglia, the city of the Smurfs. You know, the little blue characters with white hats and stone houses? Alberobello is part of UNESCO's World Heritage. The houses or Trulli have a peculiarity, they're made of stone, like many others but unlike these others, the constructions do not use mortar. The roofs are conical and covered with calcareous plates from the neighbouring fields or extracted from the cisterns next to the Trullo being built. Day 6 Thursday Relax day - Alberobello Breakfast, buffet at our hotel in Alberobello, Puglia. Relax 1 : Our first relax day on this tour. We can visit the town at our leisure or ride around the Puglia country side. Night stay and diner at our hotel in Alberobello, Puglia Day 7 Friday - Alberobello, Pouilles, Trebisacce, Calabria Breakfast, buffet at our hotel in Alberobello, Puglia. Stage 6: We ride south again, towards southern Italy. We will pass Matera, Basilicate, to get to Trebisacce in Calabria. Matera is renown for its Troglodytic habitats (the Sassi di Matera, literally stones of Matera), again on the UNESCO World Heritage list. Night stay and diner at our hotel next to the ionian sea, Calabria.
Day 8 Saturday - Trebisacce, Calabria, Sicily Breakfast, buffet at our hotel in Trebisacce, Calabria. Stage 7: Today we take a ferry to cross the Strait of Messina into Sicily. Then we ride to our hotel, where we will stay four nights. Night stay and diner at our hotel in Montalbano, Sicily. Day 9 Sunday - Relax day Breakfast, buffet at our hotel in Montalbano, Sicily. Relax 2 : We are now in Montalbano for four nights. There are so many things we can do. Visit the Etna volcano, visit the towns, their history, travel along the coast and enjoy the views and the wonderful food. If you would like, you can arrange for a visit to a spa for massages and saunas. Night stay and diner at our hotel in Montalbano, Sicily.
Day 10 Monday - Relax day Breakfast, buffet at our hotel in Montalbano, Sicily. Relax 3 : Would you like to visit the Etna today? A real active volcano? Day 11 Tuesday - Relax day Breakfast, buffet at our hotel in Montalbano, Sicily. Relax 4 : Sicily is a wonderful island, where you find almost everything. Day 12 Wednesday - Montalbano, Sicily, Palermo Breakfast, buffet at our hotel in Montalbano, Sicily. Stage 8: Today we ride to the western part of Sicily. We will ride all day on the island to reach the port where we will board the ship and sail to Genoa in northern Italy. Night stay and diner on board the ferry across Tyrrhenian Sea and the Ligurian Sea to Genoa. (Please note that water and wine are not included in the meals.) Day 13 Thursday - Palermo, Sicily, Genoa, Liguria Breakfast, buffet on the ship. Relax 5: Today is an almost relax day. We spend 21 hours on board to get to Genoa in Liguria. The ship, la Superba can accommodate up to 2920 passengers, 608 cabins and 984 vehicles. You can have a good time on board, there is a casino, a game room, a video room, a restaurant a la carte, the buffet restaurant and a pizzeria. There is also a shopping place and a snack bar. Once we reach Genoa, we will ride towards France and stop at our hotel in Arenzano, Riviera Ligure. Night stay and diner in Arenzano, Riviera Ligure.
Day 14 Friday - Arenzano, Monferrato, Lake Iseo Petit déjeuner buffet à l'hôtel à Arenzano, Ligurie. Étape 9: Nous avons toute la journée pour se promener, entre autre, dans la région du Piémont, dans le collines de Monferrato (Montferrat) une région viticole et est particulièrement réputé pour ses vins rouges et ses vins mousseux, certains vignobles du Montferrat sont inscrits sur la liste du patrimoine mondial de l'unesco, avant de se rendre à notre hotel au lac d'iseo. Nuit à notre hôtel sur le lac d'iseo et souper dans un restaurant tout près.
