The small town of 1,750 has become the hot spot for entertainment for Parker Countians. However, the faith-based water park has kept busy in the off season to add more attractions and landscaping, including a four-lane mat racer and two twisting tube slides. The company chose to use the hilly terrain to its advantage by building the slide tower at the top of the hill and have it naturally cascading down. They also built the lazy river into the hill giving park patrons a canyon river type experience with walls on either side of the river that reach 20 feet. Splash Kingdom offers residents of Hudson Oaks discounted season passes to the park. To purchase them, city residents must bring a utility bill for proof of purchase. Each year around Christmas time, the park also sells discounted season passes available to everyone. This is the third Splash Kingdom water park, including one in Canton and one in Shreveport, LA. The company has begun construction on a fourth water park in Greenville and hope to open by the summer. The founders are not done with the Hudson Oaks Park, though. They purposefully bought 15 acres so they could expand and add more exciting new attractions each season. Check out the new features this summer! The company s CEO Johnny Blevins was also awarded the East Parker County Chamber of Commerce Entrepreneur of the Year Award at the chamber banquet on March 7. History The City of Hudson Oaks was founded in 1978 by two small communities in Eastern Parker County.
