VOLUME 15 Issue 5 Page 3 Everyone had a great time at the July Samboree Rally in Wapakoneta thanks to hosts, Denny & Bonnie Edgar. We ate out twice at local restaurants and had several afternoon gatherings with finger food, of course! The Samboree provided all-you-can-eat pancakes on Saturday morning and hot dogs & chips that afternoon, and donuts on Friday and Sunday mornings. It seems that eating is one of the things we do best! We enjoyed four evenings of wonderful entertainment and had plenty of opportunity to play competitive games during the day. We had the pleasure of meeting new members, Kathy North & Paul Boivin, an energetic young couple from Northfield. A hearty warm welcome! Visitors, Jim & Melinda Shaum decided they will be joining the Nomads after giving us an A+ on hospitality. We re happy that each of you has chosen us as your Ohio Nomads RVing friends! We hope you ve made your reservation for the Hall of Fame Rally August 14 th thru 17 th, please note that the venue has changed to Yogi Bear Campground in Uniontown. Ron & Jackie Gade and Stan & Pat Wietholter have some really exciting plans in store for us and you don t want to miss out on any of them! A rally reservation form and full details are in this newsletter. The September Keep Em Buzzing Rally will be held in conjunction with The Honey Fest in Lithopolis; we ll be camping at Jackson Lake Campground. Come join in on the fun & games and the chance to win wonderful prizes. Michael Canode has a sweet rally in the planning, so get your reservation in early! The final rally for the year will be at the Circleville Pumpkin Show, the oldest and largest festival in the state of Ohio. Details and a reservation form will be in the next issue of Scope Ohio. Hope we see you at one, or better yet, at all three of the remaining rallies of the year! We don t always get smarter as we get older, We just run out of dumb things to do! And, you don t have to be blonde! LOL! Carol Ohio Nomads 2014 Rally Schedule September 4-7 Keep Em Buzzin 2 Michael Canode Jackson Lake Campground Lithopolis OH October 13-18 Pumpkin Show Gary & Carol Toohig Ohio Christian University Circleville OH July Rally Master s Report If you were not at the July Samboree/ Ohio Nomads Rally in Wapakoneta, Ohio, you missed some good times and great food. We had 15 coaches registered as Ohio Nomads and one of those was not Ohio Nomad members when they arrived, but they were when we left Sunday morning, plus 3 Ohio Nomads that were working as Ohio Good Sam members. Welcome to the new members Melinda and Jim Shaum. We were also glad to see Kathy North and Paul Boivin as

V o l u me 1 5 I s s u e 5 P a g e 4 We had one of the best parking areas on the fairgrounds, as we were all parked together and had our own area under the grandstand for potlucks and gatherings and just enjoying friends, plus when it came time to leave Sunday, we had a very nice new dump station that was easy to get to and Ohio Nomads were all we seen using it. Ohio Good Sams provided great entertainment and shuttle service to the entertainment every day. We had beautiful weather from Wednesday to Sunday although the early arrivers said that Tuesday evening they did have a heavy storm move thru the area. We all enjoyed the entertainment Wednesday evening after the group went to Lucky Steer for on your own dining. Thursday evening we had a potluck dinner under the grandstand and then enjoyed the entertainment in the main building. Friday evening we dined at RJ s Coffee Cup, where you could order off the menu or have their Fish and Chicken buffet, then we all enjoyed the entertainment at the main building back at the fairgrounds. Saturday afternoon we enjoyed a finger food buffet under the grandstand and just enjoyed friends before going to the main building for the Saturday evening entertainment. Sunday morning we all said our goodbyes and were on the road by noon. Bonnie and Denny would like to thank all attendees and hope that all had as great of time as we did.
