Besides Frank and Susanne keeping the facilities looking spic and span, Rod & Peggy have spent a lot of time giving our ablutions block a makeover so that it looks like new again. Gail, Bill, Kevin, Mark & Rod have spent considerable time on a range of improvement projects around the site in preparation for the wonderful summer season ahead of us. Our brand new super efficient free standing fireplace will be installed next month complete with council compliance to meet all the requirement codes. Barry is coming to spray our lawn areas to get rid of the pesky onehunga prickle weed for us barefooted troopers. Our equipment for mowing and grounds maintenance has been upgraded/serviced by Kevin for the impending busy time ahead. Our club is looking in great shape for members and visitors to come and make the most of the great weather in store for us this long weekend and in the coming months for socializing and relaxing times at WOS.

Working Bee Saturday 28th & Sunday 29th October Yes we have organised another of our world famous social and fun time working bee weekends where you can join in doing your favourite tasks to help with improvements to the WOS facilities. The main theme will be painting with a variety of associated tasks available to suit your own talents. There will be brush painting, roller painting and preparation work so come prepared and bring your brushes, rollers & trays, pots for holding paint, drop sheets, rags & cleaners, ladder and any other equipment you have, we will supply roller sleeves as needed and plenty of paint for you to play with and lots of other stuff. Be prepared for work interludes, interruptions etc interspersed with banter, joking, whistling, singing, banjo playing or whatever and breaks for coffee spa time or relax time. The BBQ will be on the go for sausage sizzle for lunch. No camping fees apply for participating overnight stayers and $5 hamburgers will be available in the evening. Safe working practise applies so bring any safety gear you need. If you don t wish to be part of the painting party or unable to attend the working bee then Gail has a wish list of other tasks on hand if you let her know what project you would like to undertake to contribute to the cause in your own time.
