MONTHLY NATURAL GAS SURVEY - 1 CONTENTS TABLE 1 Natural Gas Balances in OECD Regions and Countries TABLE 2 Gross Imports of Natural Gas: Total OECD, OECD North America, OECD Pacific, OECD Europe TABLE 3 Gross Exports of Natural Gas: Total OECD and OECD Regions GRAPHS Gross Consumption of Natural Gas by OECD Region Indigenous Production of Natural Gas by OECD Region APPENDIX Geographical Notes NOTES ESTIMATED DATA Due to the absence of official data, the following data have been estimated: Portugal May 2009 to November 2009 COUNTRY NOTES Australia Prior to July 2006, all Natural Gas exports are estimated by the IEA on the basis of OECD imports of Natural Gas from Australia. Post July 2006, total exports of Natural Gas are estimated by the administration, based on annual (July to June) and quarterly data. The breakdown of export destinations is estimated by the IEA on the basis of OECD imports of Natural Gas from Australia. France Beginning with January 2005 data, exports of natural gas include a portion of gas in transit. Germany German imports and exports of natural gas include transit flows. Iceland There is no natural gas data for Iceland, as there is neither production nor consumption. Italy Cushion gas is excluded from stock levels starting with October 2009, hence there is a break in stocks between September and October 2009. Historical revisions are pending. Korea Most recent natural gas closing stock level is estimated by the IEA secretariat based on available preliminary data. These data are usually finalized within 1 month of first publication. Netherlands Turkey Between January 2005 and July 2009, natural gas trade information is published by country of physical location prior to or after crossing Dutch borders. Revisions are pending. Beginning with August 2009 data, Natural Gas trade data are reported on the basis of ultimate origin and destination. Beginning with January 2009, stock levels have been revised to include the data of new companies operating in the market, hence there is a break in stocks between December 2008 and January 2009. Historical revisions are pending.
